Opinions on the new warthog variant: Razorback

should this new variant be able to carry multiple spartans in multiplayer or should it have an inaccesable back area like traditional transport vehicles

It definitely appears to be capable of carrying Spartans. My hope is that it can fit two Spartans in the back, or 4 Marines.

Looks great!

I’m a simple spartan, I see a vehicle, and I’ll pilot it off an edge in style.

Looks great. Appears to be very hard to take down with all that armor.

It should be able to carry at least 4 players total, especially in campaign. It would be weird to be labelled as a troop transport car and not be able to at the very least hold all 4 co-op players at once. The players in the back will probably also be able to shoot while riding as well.

Can’t wait for the shenanigans with this thing in multiplayer. Could lead to some fun action sack modes too.

they had troop transports in halo 3 which could only hold the driver and the passenger no extra

Ah yes I remember that. That made sense in halo 3 campaign though because it was only 2 player co-op as far as I remember.

My thoughts are pretty much this

“Anyone wanna go Off-roading in my new Razorback Warthog?”

Pretty much me saying I love it and I really want to own one now

I’m digging it a lot! Love the design!

Looks really cool. I hope it can hold 4 players

Inappropriate name. I think it looks more like a puma.

Rushing players on foot and mawling them with automatic rifles then getting overkilled by a spartan laser

Looks like its gonna be really fun to use in multiplayer, especially for game modes like ctf where u get 4 people to storm the enemy base where all the passengers are dishing out damage left and right

4 player online though with two elites

I really like this up-armored variant of the venerable Warthog. If it is not going to have a weapons mount like it’s older, lighter brother, then I feel it should be able to carry a Spartan or two Marines in the back. I hope the final version receives a paint job, though. Brown or tan would make a nice military aesthetic while making it visually distinguishable from the Warthog.

Maybe “super” puma? (In Simmons voice)

It may not be an Elephant, but man. I’m excited to chaperone some Spartans with Explosives in multiplayer.

I like the basic concept of a tankier Warthog a lot! The concept art looks great, too, but honestly I won’t be terribly excited about this thing unless it’s more viable as a solo vehicle than the Warthog is.

Few single elements of Halo’s sandbox are as ubiquitous and iconic as the Warthog, but at the same time I almost always find myself running a Ghost/Chopper/Revenant when playing a campaign solo instead if at all possible, because in a Warthog, I have to depend on less-than perfect gunner AI for all offensive capability.

One of my favorite things 343i’s done with Halo, period, is the Gungoose. It’s imperfect, obviously, but it at least makes the Mongoose somewhat analogous to the Ghost in terms of utility in its niche, which is more than can be said of any of the Mongooses from the Bungie days. If the Razorback has any kind of driver-operable offenses, I’ll be very excited to spend some quality time learning how to leverage them in the PvE sandbox.

If not, I’ll opt for highjacking a Chopper, blazing a trail through the enemy lines, and letting the Marines find their own way after me in the Razorback, just like I did in Halo 3.
