I am hoping this H5 energy sword is just a placeholder, but if it isn’t who thinks we should get an older looking version back.
I for one, am all for the curves such as where the handle is flowing round into the blade, make it less jagged by all means but not whatever it is at the moment!
What design will everyone prefer and inspiration from what Halo game?
I think it looks kinda cool actually. It kind of reminds me of one of those fantasy spear tips that people had on some weapons.
Dislike it. I much prefer the look of the old sword.

The new Energy sword isn’t even an Energy sword. Look at it. It doesn’t even resemble the old one at all. It’s like how the Elites keep sporadically changing size for no reason, or how the Gravemind changes from a venus flytrap to a snake with ridiculous drooping lips (why the hell did they do that). I dislike when games are so inconsistent in terms of the appearance of weapons, enemies etc. If they want something that doesn’t look like the original energy sword, make a new weapon instead of changing the old. The Energy Sword was like an iconic weapon of Halo, similar to the Needler. You don’t mess with iconic symbols, it just makes things weird and inconsistent.
It’s a minor nitpick but it’s still sma rant that always replays in my head, when it comes to situations like these.

I agree with this but the Gravemind looks epic. How can you not like him? The old graphics couldn’t show what he truly was. Now they can.
But hopefully the sword will look like it did In Halo 3 again. I already disliked the minor changes to it in Halo 4.
I think it looks cool
I hope they have the original in as well though because that one is also cool
this could be like the new infected sword in halo mcc
who knows, maybe it is the t-2 energy weapon lol
the old model is classic. You cant mess with it.
This definitely something I can see them changing before launch.
It’s different, I don’t quite dislike it, but it is doing a strange deviation. Though, if I had it my way I would have it remodeled to be the classic look. The classic energy sword is just an iconic, elegant weapon in the Halo universe and I don’t think that in particular needs to change much.

Where do you see a venus fly trap? The Halo 2 gravemind doesn’t look like anything. If I could make a comparison, I’d say some sort of weird worm thing based off of this image from a cutscene.
I don’t know where you’re getting a venus fly trap. Even his mouth is in 4 pieces, not 2, like a venus fly trap.
The model kinda looks like the blade Elites would pull out when performing an assassination in Reach. I would much rather the old model though.
