Opinions KBM VS Controller in Halo Infinite?

Well im curious as much as some might be. Like mcc where its just no contest will halo be controller driven or can we expect to use KBM. I assume this depends on the aim assist movements and stickyness on the BR ECT… Anyone with any other info let me know id love to get some insight and thoughts. Love halo playing since pc CE but i do wish i could run my KBM on MCC but it just isnt an option

From the stream yesterday, It looked like there was less help for controllers, I’d imagine you’d have an easier time with KBM on cross platform. That being said, I’ve played both a decent amount and it seems to me that aside from H3 where the battle rifle really dominates, playing on kbm is totally viable. I only play social so that might be the difference between you and I, but regardless I’m sure with this game coming to PC at the same time as Xbox they’ll have taken the balance more into thought.

There will be input filtering match making. So this means kbm players face kbm players. Control pads vs control pads. You can opt into whatever you’d like though. If you use 1 or the other and don’t mind a mix in your lobby you can do that…however there’s advantages/disadvantages. So that being said…I’d assume most players by default will play against players using the same input devices that they are. I also don’t know if at the end of the game would you be able to even tell by some kind of on screen icon which device hey were using.

Input based match making is for ranked only, and it’s forced not optional from what I read, if you use a pad, you play against pads, same with KB and M. Social is not forced input, you can play against other input devices.

For me i have always done tournaments and ranked been a level 50 so i always try my best. So for me i will go with whatever input makes me rise closest to the top. I like to do the tournaments with old pros in MCC that they host now and such. Draft one ECT… Everyone is on controller but i do love my KBM. We shall see in what 4 hours!

this is probably in response to KB+M players complaining about the near aimbot controller aim assist granted players in MCC

Ive played way to much halo and i can promise in a not mean rude way no one on KBM is gonna out br and out play you in MCC at a high level. Sure give them a sniper they can wreck but thats about it.

Opt in opt out for social though right?

I don’t know tbh. I remember reading ranked was forced but social was not. To me… I see that as being optional or opt in out as far as social match making goes, but that is my opinion only. I have not seen the wording “we can opt in / out in social” from 343i.

Im pretty sure there will be opt in opt out…even still though, there’s losers using stuff like the xim adapter to use a mouse and reap the benefits of having a hand to control their aim plus all the assistance a controller user gets from using a game pad (aim assist etc) so they’d fall under game pad user but actually be using a mouse…

I wish that was detectable.

I think so too. It makes sense because many players seem want the choice. Hopefully it happens, I believe options are always the fairest choice.
