They have good ideas, but they haven’t managed to execute them well. (I personally think Halo 5 will be far superior to Halo 4.) Very poor DLC management as usual, even though the maps are excellent.
They are neglectful of Reach, but Bungie was also neglectful of Halo 3 after the release of Reach, so that’s to be expected.
Good idea in the rotational playlists, but those playlists tend to be basic playlists that should be always there, either mixed with others, or on there own.
(KoTH, Oddball, and Squad DLC.)
They aren’t any more money grabbing than Bungie, they didn’t offer a $150 edition of their Halo game to get some flames. The Halo Reach Legendary Edition ALSO didn’t include 3 map packs. This means a standard edition Halo 4 buyer, only spent $10 less than a limited edition buyer by the time the 3 map packs were purchased.
They say they’re listening to the community and have seen they’ve made mistakes and are making efforts to fix them, but seriously. START WITH THE DLC.
That’s actually my biggest complaint against them right now. They made an amazing map pack like the castle map pack, and then throw it in the dumpster until they need it for two weeks.
But anyways, in reality, you get much more bang for your buck with 343i value-wise. I enjoy Halo 4, but there are just some things they’ve managed very poorly. If they can figure these things out, they will be a great company.
Now here’s one more thing.
I believe Halo 4 is a great game, and I would have a ton more fun if my friends played it and I could with them.
But, I don’t want another Halo game like this. Something feels missing.
Something more like Reach, balanced, but with some gadgets and twists and amazing customs and an amazing forge setting and everything else that makes that game great.
I mean, I wouldn’t have a problem if they just re-made Reach and then supported the multiplayer again but…that sure wouldn’t happen lol.
Anyways…
They have a lot of potential, they just need to fix some playlist management issues. More CQC/indoor maps, more symmetrical maps.
I just feel like Halo 4 is one step away from being something amazing but there’s something hindering it. Maybe I don’t like personal load outs as much as I thought…
