What are your opinions on the Halo Infinite Multiplayer Overview
Gameplay
Ordanance Drops
Unlocks
Skins
Everything look’s absolute amazing. I have no complaints to be honest. Super stoked to play what the team at 343 has created.
I mean, ordnance drops are just a cooler way of weapons respawning, so I have no problem with that.
What I really love is how battle passes are never locked up. My favorite part of MCC has been I don’t have to stress to unlock everything I want before the season is done, I can do it at my own pace. So glad they’re doing that in Infinite.

I’m so glad they’re sticking with a battle pass system similar to MCC’s. I hate taking a break from a game, and coming back to find out I missed a ton of sweet loot.

I have to agree. Being able to tackle the season pass at my own pace will work great with my work schedule and will help relieve some stress.
It looked to me that you are able to sprint, and then still maintain the ability to shoot your gun without slowing down.
If this is true, this is a wonderful compromise for the Sprint vs No Sprint argument. Many games such as Call of Duty and Fortnite have implemented the ability to always be Sprinting (in fact this is now the default in Fortnite.)
I am hoping that Halo Infinite will allow you to select an option to always be sprinting, provided you are able to shoot your gun at any point and not lose any speed. Looking forward to learning more!

That for me has really set the bar and standards that all gaming companies should be doing for their customers, communities etc.
No need to chuck a sicky at work thinking you’ll miss out haha!
I’m also a big fan of being able to go back and finish seasons - there’s a lot 343 have gotten so right already! I’m pumped, just wish I had a concrete date for the release and I’d be 100% happy all round.

As a working father I always miss out on things thanks to expiring battle passes and limited game time, I’m so glad Halo doesn’t have to be a concern for me lol
A bit different from halo 5, a little bit more chill feeling. Which looks really fun to play I cant wait!!!

Same! Minus the father part. I work on tugboats so I leave for a week at a time then get a week off. I’m always missing out.
I posted this in the competing thread, but I’ll put it here in case this one wins out:
The Battlepass system sounds like the MCC season system, but you have to pay for access to each season. Couple that with not being able to directly purchase the battlepass/season rewards, and it sounds like a great system (for a FTP game). If this is the only monetization for this game besides actual content expansions, then that’s a huge win in my book. Hopefully it stars a trend of eliminating FOMO tactics in AAA games. I doubt it, but if anyone could do it it’d be a FTP Halo.

Each season hmm? Still sounds intrusive because of that alone.
Should be a lot of fun. Looking forward to it.
One thing I do find interesting, however, is no mention of Halo esports in either the presentation yesterday or today. Perhaps it’s taken for granted, but I would have though it a huge marketing push and courtship dance right out of the gate for multiplayer.

Agreed! Ideally we’ll learn more about the status of items earned from Events and if they can be unlocked a different way (perhaps the Event comes back a year later at the same time?)
But regardless the ability to never miss out on a battle pass is absolutely huge and a huge win.
I am hyped for everything except for the battlepass. And before you guys start hating on me for this, remember that we had halo 3’s multiplayer with unlockables etc. And we still don’t know for sure what the passes will have and if they can all be earned by playing, but also be aware, a free to play setup will invite cheaters and smurfs. I want halo multiplayer, not Apex legends, warframe im special money simulator. I have high hopes, but will not be giving them money for “passes” this current enviornment of “battlepasses” and “seasons” is just an excuse to get more money out of fanboy whale pockets. A whale in this case ia a player that would drop hundreds or thousands on halo because of how much they enjoy it.

Honestly the Halo Infinite battle pass seems like the least intrusive monetization scheme in any AAA title to date. There are items unlocked through achievement and playtime, optional purchased costmetics, and the battle pass. As long as there’s a healthy amount of free options alongside the battle pass, or if the battle pass possibly offers different variants of existing items, then I’m all for it. There’ll probably be 4 seasons a year, if they’re 10 bucks each or in a bundle, I’d take that. Hell, Destiny players are paying 80-90 bucks annually to play the game, I’ll take 30-40 yearly after the initial launch
Pricing of the battle pass will be interesting as they noted it was a permanent unlock. Once you buy it, you’ll never have to re-purchase and it just rolls from season to season with the ability to choose where you apply your progress. Being that it’s a one time purchase for a F2P game, I imagine they want to have this on the high end (yet not too high to scare folks off) since it won’t be recurring revenue for them every couple months. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the battle pass cost $60.
Edit: I was wrong, the wording in their update was a bit confusing. Each battle pass will have its own price, it’s just not time limited to acquire the unlocks.

It depends on the price. For example, 15 bucks per season will not be acceptable if they did 3 month seasons, as a year worth of new customization rewards is not worth the price of a full game. 5 bucks a season? That’s reasonable IMO. My prediction would be 10 bucks per season for 3 month seasons, and that’s not worth it to me but could be worth it to some people. We will have to wait and see. I’d take this system over 5’s any day. Just stay away from FOMO and pay-by-the-armor-piece tactics and I’ll be fine.
Right now I am very happy. They have managed to have all my confidence.
