So is anyone interested in ATLAS? Personally, I’m not too fond of the idea. Its cool, I guess, but I think that it seems like it will take a lot of the fun out of multiplayer by showing where all the guns are. I love looking around, or just stumbling on one by surprise. Adds a fun element to the games, you know? Anyways, I am more than content just using Waypoint. ATLAS, while a cool concept, just isn’t for me.
I don’t think it would even run on my second generation iPod Touch anyways.
Since I only have an Android, and would have to pay for it, count me out. It looks nice and all, but just not keen on buying an app that I may not have much use for if it turns out to suck!

> Halo Waypoint on Windows Phone, iOS, and Android devices is free. ATLAS is $4.99 on iOS and Android devices, and free on Windows Phone 7. Worldwide pricing varies depending on currency and region.
I’m very interested in the App (iOS - iPhone/Pad). It has the potential to introduce an element to the game, that for me personally, can (again potentially) improve my map awareness and my call-out abilities.
A development item I have is to improve both my map awareness and call-outs. I tend to “get in a zone” and don’t always communicate quickly enough with my team. I see it as a hindrance to performance.
I look forward to testing it out, and commend 343i for bringing Waypoint and Atlas to iOS devices. I admit I thought they’d keep Atlas as WP7 only for a long time.
All the stuff they mentioned like your teammates and objectives etc have HUD markers in the game anyway. Also am i expected to balance my phone on my knee while playing, and keep glancing down to it or something?
They said “near real time” about 13 times too, i wonder what exactly that means. Because if its a delay of perhaps even a second in the telemetry its showing you during a live game, then it ends up being pretty useless as a source of intel. I was lead to believe atlas could be accessed via this site too but it seems that was false.
Looks good, and if I had a Windows Phone 7 I’d probably be pretty happy. But I have a HTC Android… $4.99 or however many £’s seems a bit steep for something that tells me where weapons are. But it would still be pretty cool, if I did have the Windows Phone.
The Halo Atlas finally gives me a reason to post.
I do have a Windows Phone (ditched my iPhone a while ago) and I love the Xbox integration.
I’d really like to see this app expanded to allow assigning targets or waypoints to the players on your team, by tagging spots on the map. It’d be a great strategy aid.
