Opinion: Halo fans Do Not Know What They Want.

I’m not sure about most of you people but the things that got me pumped for an upcoming game was features that were Added and not removed.

After viewing these forums casually for some time, I could hardly find one thread that ever talked about adding features that can could be new and exciting to Halo 5.

All I see is “remove this”,“remove that”, or “keep it like the older games”. This, to me, is strait up blasphemy! These so called “Hardcore fans” just want a boring, stripped down, plain, dry arena shooter. This leads me to believe the these people know Pee Diddy Squat on how to make an interesting game.

I for one, would like to see a bigger player count like 32v32 for BTB with many new veihicles for awsome action moments.Space Battles or better yet, Boat Battles. I want to see many new weapons with different functions and not just redesigns from the previous game. I could go on and on but you guys should just know that halo could be so much more.
I will provide an example:

My vision of new features in a Halo game would be a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatos, onions, ketchup, and mustard. All these attributes make the burger tasty and exciting.

These anti-sprint, anti-smart scope, or anti-spartan ablility people would prefer halo to be a plain hamburger with nothing on it.

Everone knows little to no people ever buy plain hambugers. Thats why every restraunt does not include it in the main menu!

These people are the main ones holding Halo back and will ultimatley lead the Halo’s real, permanet death. The reason for population decline is franchise fatigue and newer more unique games, not new features.

Back when 343 took control of reach , hardy anybody played the title update playlist and just played vanilla playlists instead. This goes to show that the critical, anti- new people do not know what they want.

I really don’t mean to offend anyone but I would much rather have the Halo 5 population drop down to 30,000 players in 3 months than to have less than 300 people playing in the same timeframe.

Please make constructive posts and try your best not to make insults.(Or point out grammmar errors.)

i know what i like. halo 1-3 kind of gameplay. im also a huge fan of quake and counter strike and doom. counterstrike is not dead and not very much has changed. quake is popular on PC not console. so if CS and quake can survive on its core experience i can see halo doing the same. dont fix what aint broke.

If you don’t like a straightforward arena shooter then YOU ARE PLAYING THE WRONG GAME. Just because it doesn’t interest YOU doesn’t mean it’s not an interesting game. Just because you need new flashy lights and new pretty sounds added to the game constantly with each new release doesn’t mean everyone else does.

16v16 or 20v20 btb/firefight with AI.
Good guys”: Spartans, odst, marine
"Bad guys": elites, brutes, prometheans
Game modes: objective/tdm.
intro “good guys”: spartans free fall and use thruster pack to land. Odst drop in pods, marines come in pelicans.
intro “bad guys”: elites jump out of phantoms, brutes come in drop pods, prometheans do the teleport thing.
synopsis: player chooses either one of the three classes from each team to spawn as. Each class has its own load out. (Ex. Brutes spawn with spiker, mauler, and spike grenades. Odst spawn with silenced smg and silenced odst pistol) each class also has unique traits, but nothing is customizable.
Vehicles: team based vehicles like elephants and falcons plus new ones.

At least you have “opinion” in the title. Now check you my thread for some innovative ideas that probably haven’t been said before.

Aw, wonderful another noob, to tell me halo needs to change… and we should listen to you because of your 17 years of life experiance, and c+ ave in middle school. Aiming for middle ground will never elevate halo above the crowd, 343 will need to develope halo with some distinction from other fps games if it wants to rise above them. A distinction it had before reach, Sprint or abilities.

If anyone is a 17 year old here, it’s you. Name calling and insults are something a child would do. However I do agree, Halo needs to stand out again but it may be hard for it to do so.

I’d like to see a larger scale Halo game but as a side project, not part of the main series. Something along the lines of Battlefield or Battlefront. I saw someone mention Planetside and I think a Halo game like that would be interesting and I’d be willing to pick it up. Again as a SIDE PROJECT and not part of the MAIN SERIES.

Players Should be “spawned” onto the map Via Drop Pods Always thought that would freaking awesome, And customizable halo weapons, The Ma5 Ar is used in the universe because its highly customizable or situations, Ordnance would rock on something like this as well, even Spartan abilities Which is taboo but i really do think a larger scale type game would benefit from everything halo have ever offered

EDIT:

Hell who knows maybe halo 5 will offer something similar

I mean really we have only seen the “Arena” aspect
Maybe they have a something special planned for other aspects

Sigh
It seems like…
…You haven’t been searching hard enough.
Both threads by anti-sprinters btw.

I know this has been said, but ship to ship combat. Space battles going on while a war ranges on the surface of a near by planet, all in one game.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 much? Or should I say, “What everyone is praying SWBF 3 will be?”

I think this video has a good idea behind it. Matches the topic at hand.

It wouldn’t hurt to see big battles and small battles in the same game.

I know what I want, don’t tell me i don’t-

BECAUSE YOU READ MY MIND!!!

“Don’t fix what ain’t broke.”

Wrong. The problem is that Halo fans know exactly, and in excruciating detail, what they want. Ask 100 different Halo fans to describe what they want and you end up with 100 different versions of Halo. This is the age we live in. Everyone thinks they’re a better game designer than the game designers. 343 is not the death of Halo - people and their opinions will be the death of Halo.

Yet you guys ask for “innovation”. How are developers supposed to know what players want when people ask for nothing specific on what they want improved in they game. They just say " innovate " and expect its going to be something they like.
