I absolutely love the open world level in ODST (Mombasa Streets). Travelling around freely in a city at night in a game was something I’ve always wanted to do. What are your thoughts on the open world level in ODST?
In a nutshell…awesome. I would love to see it again. Perhaps with a few more scripted events throughout each section and have the city segments better differentiated from one another.

I agree with you. There a few sections that are exactly the same with little difference.
It was a wonderful change of pace. Also it felt like the city that the halo 2 gameplay demo showed off. It was the first halo game that had a realistic looking and feeling modern city with sky scrapers and stuff. It wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty and functional. My biggest complaint is not being able to turn on the terminals again once you have found them. The notifications for the terminals like the please walk, the flashing lights and moving senery really made the place feel like it was just attacked and broken. Like it was a live city only hours ago. Once all the terminals have been found the city becomes a quiet dead waist land that seems like it was taken over years ago. Seriously if you guys want a good experience in the city again, start a new profile and never get a terminal. Makes the city in ruin atmosphere perfect.
