I would be interested to see an open world Halo game similar to Fallout or Borderlands. Quests, ranks, reputation. There is so much Halo lore out there that finding story line wouldn’t be a problem. What do you think?
I don’t think Halo would work as an RPG

I don’t mean you are playing as Chief or even a Spartan. You could be an Elite on the Jackal homeworld trying to quell a rebellion or something.

Again IMO, any Halo game wouldn’t work like that. But this is just my opinion, I’m sure loads of people would want this though.
It’ll be pretty cool starting out as a marine and then going up thru the ranks, doing quests, challenges, like a Halo version of Fallout, 1st person… AND CO-OP!!!

I would like to see it…but concerning playing as a sparta I dont know how they would do it. Because in the books he was always on missions, and in Ghosts of onyx pretty much the same thing. Playing as a covenant would make more sense due to the hiearchy, but I dont know many players who would want to play a Halo game without playing as a spartan.

Not a bad idea. What could be cool about this is that you are a normal soldier and maybe peripherally you would see Spartans battling and just be in awe of their amazing fighting skills
or perhaps starting off as a marine, and depending on your record you can enlist to be a spartan canidate. Depending on your class…possibilities are endless

Marine then ODST then Spartan. Similar to how you get Power Armor in Fallout, you would get your shields when you become a Spartan. Of course you would be facing more difficult enemies at that point too so the game would still be challenging.

Well in the books spartan canidates were chosen when they were very young and then taken to a classified base for training for many years.

Yeah like candidates to be The One in The Matrix but as it turns out Neo, the older less likely candidate, was The One. I’m sure they could spin that story.

Those idea’s derail off the idea of Halo. It would change the whole universe and lore up officially making it non-canonical and bland.
@ Fusion - I wouldn’t suggest making it like another game anyway. ImMrBadAim thinks Halo is becoming too much like COD b/c of a few borrowed ideas.
