I just thought of something that would make Spartan Ops a lot more fun.
The entire Spartan Ops campaign reminds me of Halo:Combat Evolved; what with the repetitive missions and reused environments. Might explain why I like it so much.
But there’s one thing in the Halo:CE campaign that Spartan Ops doesn’t have; open missions. You know, like the second mission “Halo” where you can freely explore a valley in search of crashed lifeboats. Or “The Silent Cartographer”, where you have one big island to explore, with underground structures and whatnot, and plenty of room for both vehicle and infantry combat on both levels.
What if they made levels like these for Spartan Ops, Season 2? Heck, I’d be happy if they just copied-and-pasted The Silent Cartographer into Halo 4 (Installation 03, anyone?) drop in some new vehicles (Hornet, Falcon, Revenant, AA Wraith, and Spectre) and give us more of those massive vehicle battle right on the beach with all 3 variations of the Warthog, lots of enemy vehicles, Phantoms, and maybe even a Liche or two.
That’s the kind of thing that would get me excited for Season 2, whenever it comes. What do you think?
