Seriously, this game is UNPLAYABLE because of how ridiculously overpowered the nades and close range weapons are. (Obviously, amongst a lot of other things, BR starts mainly, but thats for another time)
AR / SMG / Storm Rifle absolutely should not be any sort of mid range weapons, which is what they have become. They should close ranged weapons and thats it.
And don’t even get me started on the mini nukes, especially that BS promethean nade, I don’t understand how they thought the current power of the nades was okay.
Once again, 343, the world’s worst gaming company, caring only about bringing in the masses of the CoD players, and not the loyal Halo fans.

The weapon balance is damn near perfect. Pay closer attention not as many grenades will get ya.

Agreed this is the most balanced halo we have ever had, all these complaints simply come from people either not adjusting to the new weapons or because they are not skilled enough to fight back in certain scenarios.
Its funny how people forget how bad some of the weapons were in past Halos, Nostalgia goggles must be very present on theses forums.

This. The Grenades in this game are not super strong like people make them out to be. However the Splinter Grenades hurt like a -Yoink- lol. OP just seems like he is getting rolled on and wants those guns nerfed. They must not realize that there is different versions of these guns some which perform better at SLIGHTLY longer distances then their other counterparts. Stabilization SMG is funny. AR is supposed to be a close to low mid range weapon. There is a LONGSHOT AR with stabilization jets which makes it SLIGHTLY better at longer ranges then the other ARs and its Req 2. There is a increased range SMG thats Req 6. Storm Rifle is a Covenant weapon. In all means it should outperform a AR but anything outside of low mid range it is horrible in every way.

Nope, how on earth can you possibly think this has good weapon balance? Do you think its okay that someone can just pick up an SMG, sprint around and get a kill instantly? Clearly you must be great at Call of Duty.
And the reason why 343 is so bad and worse than EA is because they give us so much expectations just to give us serious disappointment. Look at MCC ffs.
halo 5 weapon balance is pretty exceptional, the nades have to be powerful everyone has a 10 foot quick evade button. If you have a utility weapon at medium range like 90% of the time you will win against a spray and pray if your hitting that dome piece. The only thing that I’ve seen personally is that the BR auto aim seems a little excessive as I find it much easier to use than the pistol…and also the magnetism on the sniper is a bit high but other than that top shelf balancing imo!

probably you suck at the game and run into grenades all the time like a noob.
We have more mobility options than we have ever had before, if you are getting destroyed by grenades you’re doing something wrong. Nobody in the history of Halo has anyone ever ran around with an SMG and got “instant” kills, every time I pick up one I need to stay in close quarters or else I’ll be ripped apart from mid to long range weapons. If you’re in that close range of course the SMG is going to outgun any other basic non-power weapon. Clearly you’re just throwing out blind hatred though with that 343 bashing nonsense so it’s hard to take your criticisms seriously.
I’m in the weapon balance is great crowd. I can’t remember a Halo title with a better overall weapon balance. OP, to me it sounds like you prefer a pop and shoot precision play style and you’re upset that other play styles are able to get kills on you.

Clearly you don’t understand how to counter a SMG. This Halo is a massive chess match, just like the other games, but now you throw in more than just the BR and power weapons that you can use to get kills. It’s your fault and your teams fault if a person is just running with the breeze in his or her hair and then killing you with a SMG. If someone is sprinting and you are not, you have the advantage.
I can’t argue about MCC, that was the worst launch I have ever seen. I still play CE on MCC and it works much better than before, but there are still issues.

You have a lot to learn. I’m glad to teach you.
SMG and Storm Rifle are the higher tier weapons in that category. They should beat the AR every time in a 1v1 battle. Just like how the BR/DMR/LR/Carbine should beat the Magnum in a 1v1 fight, since those are the upper tier precision weapons.
Pistol is a precision weapon, not sure what else it would be considered.

Storm rifle overheats fast and AR beats SMG ain range, balance. SMG is CQC weapon and the AR and storm Rifle are rifles so close to medium ranges makes sense, but most of the time still get beat out BR or pistol in mid range.
One thing I will say in my defense, is the maps probably dont help either. Because 343 dont have the slightest clue about how make a good Halo map, all the maps are catered for AR spray and pray because of all the small rooms etc. If you get hit first, you’re chances of survival of slim (sounds like another game eh)

AR will only beat SMG if all shots are on the head and even then it is super CLOSE. The reason though is the AR has the highest crit modifier in the game. If you do win the fight in a sheer damage race it is a testament to skill for sure. And yeah Storm Rifle overheats generally in 1 kill with it. Reading more of OPs posts though it just seems he is trolling at this point because he is like a 12 year kid screaming I AM RIGHT ALL OF YOU ARE WRONG I AM THE RIGHT ONE BECAUSE ONLY I CAN SEE IT WAAAAAAH WAAAAAHHH. He will continue to do this until his mother breastfeeds him regardless of being 12.

SMG is close range ONLY.
AR and Storm rifle are close/mid range.Of course the SMG is going to beat them out at extreme close range, thats what its made for. Halo should NOT be precision weapon focused, there should be a wide range of all types to balance the sandbox. Precision weapons are generally long range, there’s no reason a DMR would beat an SMG in close quarters.
