So whenever I’m im onyx in slayer or something the rank goes up and down without losing. If you win your supposed to go up but sometimes I win and still have a positive kd but it drops me by alot. Whats the reason behind this?
It’s glitch the only sure way to check is check the leaderboards on this site and refresh it afterwards every Match. But essentially it’s showing last matches CSR go up or down

You will only go up if you win and beat opponents who are more skilled / higher level that you are. If you are only beater lower level players or players of the same skill, then you’re likely at the rank you should be. You can! But because CSR can be delayed a game behind. He may have won but the last game he had prior might have been a loss!
For example, I got 1st in FFA, but ranked down! Next game I got 2nd and shot up from Champ 78 to 62! Next game I stayed the same.

I think FFA is a different animal; he was referring to Team Slayer.

Very likely the same reason, CSR updates a game late!

I learned recently that placing in the top 3 will not increase your CSR in Onyx and above for FFA, but I can’t help but think this is what impacted you.

No the effects of MMR on CSR are delayed by a game. If you win, besides in FFA not sure on that playlist, your CSR will always increase by at least one. Similarly if you lose your CSR will always decrease by at least 1.
Also using champ ranks to determine how much you won/lost per game can be misleading as you can win and only go up 1 CSR but still go down in champ ranks of another player passed you before you finished your game.
