I just got halo 5 and an Xbox one after Christmas and I’ve been grinding on free for all and made it to onyx league. The way it was explained to me how the rankings work was if you win your ranking goes up(lower number) but when I first got placed in onyx league I was ranked 1515 and I won a bunch of matches and the number went to 1883? I thought it was suppose to go lower if you win. It went lower when I lost.
You have it backwards. The higher the number the better, the lower the worse.
Winning=number goes up example: you’re a 1885 and you win, it goes up to 1900
losing=number goes down. Example: you’re a 1885 and lose it goes down 1880
Once you break into champ level (top 200 onyx players) then you’ll be ranked 1-200, 1 being the highest. But you always are trying to get a higher csr.
That’s all onyx rank is btw, exposed csr.
- diamond is players with csr between 1200-1499. - Plat: 900-1199 - Gold: 600-899 - Silver: 300-599 - Bronze: 0-299

The easiest way to check is go to halo5arena.com and look at the csr leaderboards. the top 200 are champion at any given moment. the site goes down sometimes but the leaderboards are almost always working.
Be wary, H5s ranking system isnt particularly great
Just going to say that is awesome and if you want to make it to champion get to oynx 2234, well above it actually… but the csr level goes up as players continue to play as well. I just wish I wasn’t on eve shift this week. I can’t play near as much halo as I want to when I work this shift.
