Monthly resets and no deranking makes the ranking system pointless. What’s the point of “skill-based matchmaking” if the skill is reset and the good players stomp on the bad ones every month anyways? Or having to wait an entire month for a reset because the ranking system is far too generous and you’re matched against people you haven’t an icicles chance in hell of beating? Terrible, TERRIBLE idea.
Bring back deranking. Stop the resets. Cap placement matches at a maximum rank of diamond 1.

Not to mention, experience only gets a person so far. A person can only be so good at everything before they hit their limits.

Why? Why on earth should someone rank up for losing games in team playlists?
Frankly, in an ideal system you shouldn’t even be able to get into Onyx at all without running with a party. This is how previous Halos were. If you wanted a 50, you got a team together. You simply cannot and should not expect to get top rank in a team playlist by yourself, and most definitely not rewarded for losing.
Why is everyone complaining about this? Just keep playing matches and your MMR will go down and you will start playing people closely skilled as you. When ranks soft reset at the end of the month, you will be placed into your right CSR. This is the platform for any ranking system. CSR doesn’t really matter, it’s just what you see.

Play slayer and and all the other game modes, and only ait for peoples heads.
Get some practice in, then go back to swat with better skills and aim.
You will never get better at something unless it’s a challenge.
Also as with any ranking system the more games you play the more daqta the system has, so over time it will match you against people more your skill range.

This doesn’t actually work.
Swat is about reaction times, knowing spawns and precise aim.
Slayer is about consistent accuracy, team-shooting and power weapon control.
You can’t really practice one to improve at the other. While some of the skills translate over, the best way to get better at Swat is to play lots of Swat.
Honestly dude… If you were going 5 kills and 20 deaths before, the .5 K/D is an improvement. I don’t see what you are complaining about.
That said, I would agree. This games ranking system is weird…

Frankly, with a 0.25 K/D I have no idea where I can rank you that you won’t get stomped on. I guess the game didn’t either. But instead of trying to help and put you in bronze it decided to -Yoink- you over and do the opposite.
