Onyx 1992?

In each game list onyx is the maximum? For example now free for all classified in 1992 as onyx it needed to reach champion? someone knows what the maximum range of onyx before moving to champion in each game list?

I think you need to be onyx 600 for you to be champion… I could be wrong because I think they change it a while back.

You won’t be a Champion until you are the top 200 in that playlist. Therefore you would need to have a higher CSR than whoever is ranked the #200 Champion. Until you have a higher CSR than #200 Champion, your Onyx ranking will continue to go up.

I think it varies on the number of people in Onyx and the ranks people achieve… I think I’ve heard of people reaching Onyx 3000+ without gaining Champion status, but this isn’t necessarily always true, nor is that necessarily the cap.

it’s the top 200 players, but as a champion your csr will still go up with wins, so it’s much easier to get champion early in a month, and more difficult later in the month. Last month there were people over 3000 that didn’t have champion, though it didn’t go much higher than that. (i think it started around 3180 for that playlist last i checked) the highest i’ve seen, someone reached onyx 14,000 (through questionable means, from what i hear)

You would be wrong. Onyx starts at 1500, and the highest you can rank in your placement matches is 1700, which is still too low for Champion. There is no Onyx 600.

that weird because I think that level there is the lowest I have obtained is

where I check that list?

Ive seen Vetoed get that high before. Depends on the playlist. If the top 200 in a certain playlist achieve their Champion and grind for a whole month, it will be hard to catch up with them.

The best thing you can do is grind on the first two days of the season.

What! For real only 200 people are champion I don’t get that cause I’ve seen some champions in match making and they weren’t amazing I’ve thought way tougher people in lower ranks.

Whaaaat on earth are you talking about??

Onyx starts at Onyx 1500… The highest you can place is Onyx 1700, which cannot be a Champion. You’ll need to reach a minimum of Onyx 1800 to become a Champion, until the top 200 Champions from the playlist all start moving beyond Onyx 1800… This is because there can only be 200 Champions at any given point in a season per playlist… And yes, you can be bumped out from being a Champion, back to Onyx (although technically Onyx is the highest ranking, as all “Champions,” are just the highest 200 Onyx’s per playlist anyway). The main thing to remember aside from the temporary position of being a Champion is that someone’s highest rank they’ve ever achieved is what shows up on their profile on Waypoint. For instance I was a Champion 1 in Swat during the March and April seasons, but I’m no longer a Champion in Swat- right now I’m just an Onyx this season because I don’t feel like grinding this one anymore. However on my Waypoint profile it’ll always show that I’m a Champion 1 in Swat because I reached that rank at one time.

As a note you’re highly unlikely to place Onyx 1700 after 10 placement matches UNLESS you were an Onyx the previous season. Also, you used to be able to place as a Champion, but after the preseason and season 1 343i changed it- largely due to fan complaints (Who would honestly want to complain about something like that, I do not know…)

I hope to be champion No. 1 envy the truth that I’m good at swat unfortunately always one of my team fails or leaves for loss of connection, some day you have to play together so I hope to get on that range that you have.

Go over to Halotracker and look at where the CSRs are at for each playlist. They have them all listed. Listed below is where they’re at right now. These may be 10 or even 20 CSR lower or higher because it’s constantly moving throughout the day.

Team Arena - CSR 2142
Slayer - CSR 1986
FFA - CSR 2067
Doubles - CSR 1800
SWAT - CSR 1800

As the season goes on these numbers will get higher and higher. I’ve seen FFA over 3,000 numerous times.

EDIT: These numbers are just to get to champion 200, champ 1 is WAY higher. It’s CSR 3,324 right now in FFA.
