If we cant pick out primary and secondary colors because you now choose coatings, then at the very least we should be able to pick the colors of said coating!
I think skins are a big gimmicky if its “buy othese other products and get skins”, id prefer it being unlockable through gameplay. Unless we are still able to unlock them in game and said products just auto unlock them.
Still, ive always uaully ran dark grey with red. Why? Because i think a mostly black spartan with red accents looks -Yoinking!- awesome! I know everyone hasbtheir own color scheme they love, so insert your own color scheme. No judgements even if i dont like said colors!
Still, if colors are hard coated(pun intended) into the coating and we cant chage it, ill be pissed. Fine you chooseing the patterns, thsts fine as long as we can then change the colors of said skins.
I know thats probably not how it works, and im worried i will not like how my spartan will look as a result. Theybsaid if “we like reach customization”, well reach lets us choose colors! 
well at least we should be able to select the armor pieces we want, cuz 5 kinda sucked in that reguard
