I think BTB is going to get pretty stale considering season 1 is 6 months.
I’m already feeling tired of the same three maps over and over and over… I got fragmentation five times in a row yesterday. What even is this matchmaking?!
343 better have some maps planned before the end of season 1 or they’re gunna lose a lot of players.
I thought BTB was making a come back? We get seven arena maps but only three BTB?
Pretty disappointing.
They’re all extremely samey too. One even seems to be a night version of the other one.
Shame as I definitely had more fun in BTB than I did in arena, but it just feels so basic.
Yeah i dont know what will drive me away quicker. Lack of maps or lack of stats. I will say though if they added stat tracking and medal counts with leaderboards I wouldnt care about the maps really
Is it confirmed we won’t be getting anymore maps until the next season? Would have thought we get many more on official release.
I have heard that there will be 2 others for BTB that will release on the 8th. I have no proof, just rumor mill stuff. I assume thats because the maps are based off a campaign location, and they want to quell any possible spoilers. But again, no proof just rumors.
I’d assume that because 343 is considering this a ‘beta’ that it would have a very limited pool of maps and that when the game fully releases more will follow. As much as I’m enjoying the game, aside from progression issues, a lack of maps overall would be a killer for me.
That is such a strange take. Maybe I am misreading, are you saying you’d rather have stats in the game than more maps?
Stats make you want to play but good variety of maps doesn’t??
I keep telling people that you could tell me all 3 maps are just different areas of the same map and I’d believe you.
I agree, but I think more will be added before too long. It’s important for onboarding that players can become familiar with gametypes and maps so it’s actually important to reduce the map pool at the start of the games lifespan. They haven’t said we won’t get a new map before the end of the month.
Also don’t forget the Fracture events come with their own playlists… Possibly maps too although I doubt the first ones will.
A lot of people are saying that new maps/modes are coming out on Dec. 8th, yet this seems to directly contradict the last blog post where 343 said this about the current beta.

10 maps overall no forge to modifiy it and the maps being honestly average at best already making me somewhat bored with the map selection. forge defently could do wounders.
What i mean to elaborate more is I played thousands of games of Invasion on Reach and it only had a handful of maps, but it had in depth stats and leaderboards. So in short if we get maps awesome, but if we dont atleast give us stats because the same maps get boring without them
