FaZe Kampy - Halo 5 Minitage 2 - YouTube < The beautiful looking headshots throughout this video are solid evidence that creating cartoony death animations is nonsensical, which you’ll see in the last clip likely due to host. So please 343, remove them altogether instead of fighting against physics that were the successor to death animations a DECADE ago.

Oh and everyone wants the old medals back. And I know gritty is hip but some contrast on the maps please.

I made a thread about this a while ago, I 100% agree with you. 343i should just leave it like in the beta, no need for repetitive death animations ala h4. They really annoyed me (maybe a bit too much) I have to say

What do you mean? Aren’t they just rag-dolling funny? Doubling over? I don’t think that’s animated …

That’s one hell of a sniper, though.

Yeh that’s what I’m saying. It all looks great so why are there animations on host? Plus I wouldn’t say ‘funny’ I’d say it looks more realistic

At the end of the clip, when he gets some ar kills, you’ll see these annoying and overdramatic death animations. I pray to the gods that they won’t make it into the final game…

I miss the backflips from sniper headshots. Those were the best.

Yeh I’ve been amazed since the beta came out that they finally got rid of them, until I saw that earlier. It was going so well…

i read your post, but the Halo 5 beta was running on dedicated servers. There was no “host”. Possibly just a glitch. I never noticed it in game.

Nah they shouldn’t. I mean, why should anything look good? All I care about is scores and stats. Have everything as one texture. Make bodies disappear, more ergonomical. What the hell is eye candy anyway?

But srs tho, that’s my point. Why are they bothering to make up these animations if the physics were there in the first place, and have been for over 10 years? Making effort to make it look worse.

But it’s really an inefficient use of time and energy to create a ‘death animation,’ when it could be directed towards something more useful (like a vehicle-flipping animation, or an alternate melee animation, seeing as how Elites have both punching and kicking animations…)

Either way, the words “death” and “animation” are antonyms. You cannot die and animate at the same time, your body just gives way to gravity and slumps to the ground. To make a death ‘animation’ is a contradiction.

well guess what it is very significant to me and others apparently, since these ‘death animations’ make the matches look goofy

ah yes. Goofy is the word I was looking for. Seriously though how do I just make a 343 employee hear me? I don’t expect anything from them I just want them to know.
PLUS, it doesn’t matter how good a death animation is when it’s happening EVERY kill. And from Reach onwards the physics don’t kick in until the animation has finished and they hit the floor, so if there’s a balcony or wall right behind the player, yeh good luck with that. And what’s better than sniping someone over a f***ing balcony?
