To keep the player in sinc with the rate of fire on the gun and not allow to fire until the reticle is closed
-
To make it harder to aim at longer distances so a sniper has a chance to counter.
At either case there should be NO other reason why it is in the game. There shouldn’t be an option to shoot the dmr or pistol beyond its fixed rate of fire. Anybody else agree?
They already took away bloom…
Can you give me a source please.
> They already took away bloom…
Dmr and magnum are confirmed to have bloom.
So as to maybe give the guns unique feel? The only way to balance the DMR would be to give it a slower rate of fire which would effectively make it a boring copy of the BR.
Bloom is really the only way to give the DMR the high rate of fire it uses while keeping it balanced with other weapons AND getting a uniqueness from the other damn precision weapons.
Besides its in, no amount of whining is ever going to remove it.

In their current testing iteration.
It does not mean the final one will have.
It can still have a high rate of fire. It just can’t give the br no ground to stand on in a midrange gunfight. Like I said, a constant rof and bloom can coexist. Bloom would only throw off the aim right after the gun is fired and would allow the attacker to counter. It’s just a game of who is better at aiming and not who can get luckier.

Does this imply that the BR does not have bloom? Differentiation of different weapon types?
…or because they found it was better to keep the feature since they are playing it and testing it as the builds come in. I remember BSangel posting a warning of the overpowering of the needle rifle when 343 started tweaking Reach. Is bloom on the precious Battle Rifle? Oh noes if it is.
And I’m saying that those are the only justified reasons for it to be in Halo 4. If bloom were to act as it did in Halo Reach, nobody would waste their time with it. I just gave an example of how it could still be in the game. I’m honestly not that big of a fan of the br. I really liked the Carbine in especially in Halo 2.
The pistol existed before Reach. Why does it need to be a Reach copy? I want a unique pistol.
DMR has bloom, BR has recoil, pistol has bloom.
DMR has slow rof, BR has faster rof, pistol has fastest rof.
How does that make sense? Pistol should have higher recoil.
I’d take a ‘12 mag, CE rof, very accurate, high recoil’ pistol over a ‘8 mag, very fast rof, with bloom similar to Reach’ one.

I agree. I’d rather have recoil across the board because it was shown in odst that it could be controlled easier.
BR has recoil, Pistol and DMR have a ‘bloom’ system. It has been said it is not the same as reach, I think I heard it resets much faster then reach. So think of somewhere in between TU and ZB DMR probably, but slightly slower max Fire Rate.
Its astounding how some people know nothing of the BR at this point, since most people wanted it back so badly

Get over it, nothing in CE will ever come back. The game was so broken it cant even be explained

Finally, someone who has played CE on PC and knows its problems instead of someone who mindlessly says that CE was the oldest and therefore had the best multiplayer.

Only 2 problems with your statements. I don’t play CE’s mp. I’m not a CE purist.
I’m a CE campaign enthusiast as you can see here.
Besides, I was thinking about the ODST pistol, which had 12 mag, fast rof, and was very accurate. The CE pistol was not very accurate. It had spread. The advantages the CE pistol had against the ODST pistol were that you could see where your shots landed, you could fire it automatically, had double max ammo, and did more shield damage.
So how am I being mindless, hmm?

Most likely this.
