I am now aware that there will be no split screen co-op for the campaign of Halo 5, but will the game add an online co-op feature to the story mode of the game? Thanks, yo.
I don’t believe there are plans for that, no.
But you can find friends in the recruiting section or Company and meet up that way.

What do you mean? Are you asking about a matchmaking kind of service to pair you up with other spartans wanting to do the same mission? If that’s the case, then no; i haven’t heard anything on that. However, there will in fact be online drop-in/drop-out co-op campaign for you and your online friends. (I don’t know if people can join without an invite though.) Also, Xbox Live Gold may be required.
I think a campaign matchmaking feature would work well with the new drop in drop out 4 player co-op, but sadly it isn’t at launch or planned
