I have been playing Halo 4 a good bit the last few days. I love this games so far except for one thing… The online xp cap. Why is there a cap? It literally has cheated me out of at least 15,000 xp from commendations and challenges. I have reached the point cap every single day which irritates me a great deal when I lose 15,000 xp without warning. I would not mind the point cap if it warned me when I was getting close so that I would not lose so much xp from commendations. Either fix the cap or give me a warning. If these two aren’t possible then at least give me my 15,000 xp that I have lost on days I do not reach the xp cap. Surely other people are having this problem as well, and I would like to see some support from others with this problem.
the cap is 100k …i just hit it in less than 1.5 hours of playing spartan ops. I played 10 games (getting 10k+ per game) and I already hit it. this is -Yoink-.
The issue of the Daily Online EXP Cap was touched upon in the latest weekly Bulletin.

When we launched, we had a bug where double XP tokens were being consumed even when you went over the cap. That has since been fixed. It seems that more players hitting the cap will cause them to take a look into raising it, and when you hit the cap, the double XP tokens get put on hold until the next day.
I do hope that it get raised in the future, I just hit it today, myself. Playing Spartan Ops is way more tolerable than Firefight for me, and it gives quite a bit of exp from missions and comms.
I personally do not see a point to continue playing the game knowing that the further I progress through the ranks the slower I’ll be able to rank up. I’m a 33 right now, if I play today, I have double xp, it would only take me about 3.5 hours to get to 38 and then I would reach the daily xp cap. The next day maybe I would get to 41. I would have been at 50 today but I see that is impossible for me to do this weekend because of this daily xp cap.
If I do play today, do I want to play right now at noon on Friday? Or do I want to wait until my friends get online in the evening? I would rather just play all day for the next 12 hours and enjoy the game. Not like yesterday, when I didn’t play with my friends in the evening because I hit the xp cap earlier in the day. That was crap.
I agree. The XP cap should be removed. I was playing yesterday and decided to go ahead and use the 48 double xp matches I racked up. I hit the XP cap after about 20 or so games and then I couldn’t earn anymore XP. Start playing today, and it turns out that all my Double XP matches were used even when I wasn’t earning XP. I think they should warn you when you are getting close or remove it all together. I lost every single Double XP match I saved and I’m livid. I mean, what’s the deal? I wouldn’t have used all my Double XP if I would’ve known this was going to happen. I’d like a refund of my Double XP or at least all the XP I would’ve earned by using them.
I would definitely love to see it raised between the next week-month. It’s a little too low for my personal tastes seeing as how I’ve hit it 2 days this week(not including today).

Isn’t that one of the main points for getting the game at launch? To race everyone to level cap? I took of 3 days off work for this game to blitz ranks to compensate for my future limited play schedule, only to get a big middle finger from 343 for playing their game too much.
The XP cap isn’t new to halo we saw it in Reach. But at least we knew about it. And thanks to this thread i now know about it and will probably call it a day. Played about 10 matches and averaged around 5k xp per game. I’ll probably play some later. I can understand the XP cap a little bit, but it does suck if you finished a challenge or commendation and didn’t get awarded your 20k xp or what not.
I’m in the same boat, game ate my double xp during the online cap and I lost all of that double xp. It feels like I just got cheated out of my money. 343 conartists.
