I was just flipping through some posts and it hit me. What if 343 makes online only available through a code you get with the game like ACR, STT or GRAW:FS? A couple of the games didn’t announce until around release that they were getting these and most games getting a Season Pass get them regardless! I personally hate these things especially when I get around to buying a game pre-owned just to find out I need to pay an extra ten bucks to play online. Even if I enjoy a Campaign in a game more then multiplayer these things are just insults. Regardless if the company needs money or not. If Halo starts requiring these i’m going to be extremely disappointed (I have it on pre-order and am purchasing it at release but this is just for the many times i’ve felt stomped on by a favorite franchise from buying pre-owned and for anyone else who has).
Take note of how none of those games are Microsoft games.
Either way I am fine with it. My PC games are the exact same way.

343 is a branch from Microsoft, You just never know with certain things.
Like Mass Effect 3? Where only the profile that put the code in can play online while the other accounts in the xbox only can play online in the console the main profile downloaded it for the first time?
Ha ha, no.

THAT’S WHAT I’M SAYIN!!!

Just giving my particular opinion, didn’t say I was against yours in any moment.
Realize that none of the games that did that were published by MS. And like you said 343 is indeed a branch of Microsoft. So I highly doubt it.

I am aware of that. But not a single game you mentioned that has an online pass is a Microsoft game.
But again, PC games require a code to play online as well. Put it in once and never worry about it again.
People who buy used and don’t give the developer money don’t deserve full features imo.
I think Online Pass Codes are stupid. Look no further than EA to see why.
i now dont care cos i pre ordered xD next thought theyll prob say you can but it but with limited edition you dont get it xD … ill cry if they did that though so they wont ;D
but honestly, na i highly doubt it, the online pass has been a massive flop and fail for companys, people ARENT buying pre owned games if they require codes so tha means if you trade in a game that does we get less

Agreed, 10 dollars to play online? Ridiculousness is ridiculous.

Why would a branch of Microsoft need you to have an Online Access Code like EA?
You already have an “Online Access Code/pass” for all Microsoft based/developed/published games, and guess what it’s called, Xbox LIVE.

Halo 4 isn’t a PC game.

That can either help or hinder the developer in the long term. For the millions of people that use gamefly, they never get to fully experience the game, and can turn them off from buying the game.

Eh, the difference is marginal. Consoles are just dedicated, under-powered, gaming-PCs. It’ll happen eventually that all console games require, what is essentially a cd-key.

I don’t mean to flame, but, no, lol. I actually made a weird noise through my nose when I read that.

Uh, what? That is exactly what it is.

To the statement that console games will require something along the lines of a CD key, I agree with you on what you said game consoles are.

It’s already happening though.
Nothing wrong with em. No problem to me.
