ONI Warthog in btb

Remember when the Warthog used to be the most powerful thing in BTB, getting in Warhog on Standoff used to be one of the most fun things to do. Now that the ONI hog can over heat let’s bring it in BTB and let the Warthog dominance come back into Big Team!

This^

No… only because I don’t want to see req weapons start to invade arena. They just need to buff the regular warthog and mantis just a bit. The ttk with the gun is a bit long.

It’s just a warthog, this would make BTB feel how it used to, and actually encourage people to go for hogs and reward good drivers.

I agree, I personally didn’t use the hogs as much but when I did I found that it was effective if used properly. They should really consider taking off the overheating.

The ttk for the base hog is fine of you have a good mid range shot on your target. At this range bullet magnetism is at its strongest, and targets melt. It’s the same range that warthogs have been effective in every other Halo, so I think the warthog is fine.

Get a decent driver, and a gunner who can understand what shots the driver is trying to set up, and warthogs are still super powerful.

It’s beast

I have always gotten either a bad driver or a bad gunner so I tend to just stay away from hogs altogether

If you’re a driver, honk when you see an enemy in front, and just try to patrol spaces between spawns and objectives rather than objectives themselves. You’ll rack up tons of Wheelman medals. This also cuts off enemy reinforcements to objectives making it a million times easier for your team to get map control of key areas. And because you’re cutting off spawned in reinforcements, they often only have loadout weapons, so they can’t effectively deal with your vehicle.

To be an effective gunner, you definitely need a good amount of map knowledge. Knowing where the enemy teams main 3 spawn areas are will help you know where and when to aim your cannon. In the first minute of your warthog run, try and pay extra attention to what kind of warthog driver you have. Most of the time they will either…
-Patrol one or two areas, usually in large loops, or in straight lines with quick u-turns at patrol ends.
-Drive towards high traffic enemy areas, attempting hit and run attacks.
-Try super risky maneuvers to park the warthog some where enemies will have a hard time dealing with it. I usually get out if my driver is this type.

It takes 2 effective people to make the warthog go into beast mode. If you can make sure that you’re always effective whether you’re driving or gunning, your hog will be much more likely to help out your team.

Tldr: There are some damn good tips above from some one who’s loved warthogs in every halo game since CE, take the 60 seconds and read it, and you’ll get tons of easy kills from something that’s almost always available for use.
