Hey guys,
I was wondering if I was the only one who was suspicious of the intentions of the ONI with the commissioning of the Infinity.
How can a ship with 17,000 people, many soldiers including ODSTs and Spartan IVs be used to “create peace” rather than wage war?Does ONI know something everyone else doesn’t? Are they aware of the threat?
I may be reading too much into this, but this is not unlike modern euphemisms like the Department of Defense.
Thoughts?
Man, ONI is always up to no good. We should just expect that:D
sees title What else is new?
ONI never specified what they were exploring. Also, all the soldiers and vehicles are likely for protection. Infinity would have been a high value target for Insurrectionists, since it’s the pride of the UNSC capturing it would be a big deal. There’s also no telling what you’ll find out in space.
Explores have always traveled with some means to defend themselves.
Just because you are there on peaceful terms doesn’t mean that who ever you bump into is going to be.
So, my guess is the Covenant and their factions are more than responsible for the UNSC packing more than just “red shirts” with phazers to go out exploring the galaxy.
Seems like a good idea to me.
Just my opinion.
ONI has essentially turned into mustache-twirling villains. Every single thing they do has a nefarious purpose.
~ONI up to no good, started makin’ trouble in my neighborhood…~
Sorry, couldn’t resist. That was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the thread title
ONI is a shadow-ops organization, they’re meant to be devious. I really hope to see more of that in-game, also the Insurrectionist faction.

Makes me wonder if ONI will end up haveing the UNSC getting on them about the stuff there doing?
Oh ONI… always up to no good.
My mind kinda hurt at “ONI” and “good” in the same sentence.
They may have caught on to something and sent out the Infinity to check things out. Or more specifically they sent the Infinity to Requiem to scour for new technology to acquire, for the Infinity is the testbed for incorporating Forerunner tech into existing UNSC systems.
And the crimes ONI has do they shall be punished for it.
On reach the coves took over ONI

Pretty sure nearly everyone in the UNSC Brass that -aren’t- part of ONI, are afraid. Admiral Parangosky in particular, is practically uncontested despite her extreme age for active service.
People fear ONI, and rarely question them- then again, people rarely know what ONI’s responsible for.
