I have all of the rare and lower reqs and I have not received this req, I heard that you get the cert for it though. Why are people saying this?
Once you complete silver, ONI Gauss Turret certification is given to you. Even though it is a legendary req item, it is rewarded for completion of Silver Packs along with an emblem. I forgot which emblem but I remember I got the ONI Gauss Turret for silver packs. However if you have already received beforehand then I don’t know what happens. Silver might just start refunding you req points.

I still haven’t gotten it, and for every silver req pack I buy, I get 3000 req points. I’m confused.

Move onto gold packs then.

You used to get it, that changed in the CG update. It was a bug.
Aside from the rare emblems that come with commendations of course. Do I need those to be unlocked as well?
I think it was just chance that you got the gauss turret. I have completed silver and I didn’t get anything besides his ultra rare set of armor that I didn’t care about.

no you do not. There are a certain number of emblems only unlocked via req packs. Emblem unlocked via commendations and spartan ranks are those only.
It’s really easy to get anyways, now that you finished the silver packs. A few more games and bam, certification.

Same here. I’ve opened 2 silvers REQs and got refunded 4x1500 REQs so just moving onto Golds now I’ve found this thread.
I did not know that they removed the ‘Oni Gauss dropping on silver completion’ with the update. I received about 10 packs of the 500rp before I got my bronze completion Nadir emblem, and I had to buy 4-5 in a row (had 12k saved up) before it kicked in and gave me the emblem on the final one. Maybe they fixed it but, I noticed when only buying one at a time it seems to give out less often. Now, I know that I’m talking bronze where there is no guarantee to get something whereas the silver should always give items unless the prize pool is completely empty. My suggestion is just try to save up 15k-20k and buy a few in one sitting to see if it pops.
