One way a Halo MMO could work and satisfy fans

A Halo MMO could possibly work as a PvE/PvP Fallout 76-clone set on an uninhabited planet completely cut off from the rest of known space as to not interfere with canon. Taking place shortly before the events of Halo 5: Guardians, it would begin with an insurrectionist-hijacked UNSC Cruiser clashing with a Storm Covenant carrier after making a random jump, eventually causing both ships to fall through the atmosphere and crash in close proximity with each other on the planet.

You’ll get to choose between starting off from from the wrecked UNSC ship (Species: Human, SoS Sangheili) or the wrecked carrier (Species: Storm Covenant Sangheili, Kig-Yar, or Jiralhanae), either working with each other or blasting the opposing sides to bits.To differentiate between the two, the Storm Covenant Sangheili will use the phenotype from Halo 4 while the Swords of Sangheilios Elites would be using the design from Halo 2: Anniversary.

I can’t fully come up with an idea for what the main “story” for this would be (Maybe trying to unlock the secret of the planet though good collaboration and Myst-style puzzles? I dunno)

It sounds great, but not as a mmo, just an adventure game with ai. I hope Halo doesn’t become an mmo. The idea of it sounds great though.

This is actually the only version of a Halo MMO style game I’ve ever heard that is not only plausible, but simple in its goals, like a Halo title should be, and it sounds likable.

That sound cool, it could be a sort of game mode in infinite.

I like the idea, it could be great.
The only problem is: Should players who choose to play humans have the possibility to be Spartans or should they unlock it as sort of specialization upgrade.
A mmo or anything about Halo could be great if correctly made but for your idea, the Spartans are a problem because a Mmo game should not count the lore out of it and it creates a game where you as a grunt or a human or any species that got OS by them would be less powerful creating an unbalanced game in the PVP side.

Actual SPARTAN-IVs and IIs wouldn’t be in the game until at least after the rise of the Created in an expansion pack. All playable Humans until then would be Insurrectionists.

For the possibility of obtaining the armor from the start, maybe you could get some armor parts that fell into the overworld during the crash. And once you take it up to the semi-functional AI of the carrier, it would take the parts and combine them to create two sets of RECRUIT armor designed for them to wear without augmentations. Make sure that you and your friend restores the power to the ship before anyone else does.

EDIT: They won’t have energy shielding and will break apart after enough damage is dealt, but can be repaired over half an in-game day.

Really not a big fan of MMOs. Halo becoming an MMO would really turn me off from playing the MP. I think it should stick with they way it works now instead. With that being said, I’ve always wanted to experience a full-out War in Halo, but that’s mostly in campaign, and not MP.
