Leverage the one thing that Halo has that almost all other console shooters don’t: forged custom games.
E.g.
- Advertise custom games so that people actually know it is in the game. Pretty much the only people that know about halo customs are those that play Halo. - Being able to browse and join user-created lobbies for customs. A lot of people don’t get to experience customs with a full lobby, let alone regularly. - If for some reason you can’t put in user-created server browsers, put custom minigames in matchmaking playlists (Action Sack is on the right track, but it needs to actually be updated, there are so many popular minigames that are not utilised) - Adding forged maps forged by the community into arena matchmaking (and not just two maps every blue moon, when a good map pops up, add it)
Even Cod and GTA has some type of custom games to an extent, it’s not that novel of a feature, although I would like to see a custom games matchmaking service implemented in the game, although there is at least one posted on the forums.

I was referring to forged custom minigames. While COD technically does have ‘Custom Games’, they aren’t on the same level as Halo’s forge and vehicles, unless it’s modded on PC.
But GTA, I agree it’s more up to par (besides auto aim and lack of on-foot parkour).
In the live stream today they said they are working on getting custom gametypes that are action sacky like pacman or mantis breakout or things like that into matchmaking. They keep finding stuff and are gonna implement it into the game so more people can play the maps and gametypes the halo players make.
If they cut it out with all the “new gameplay innovations”, stopped with the focus on Esports, actually release content at launch, and had a reward system that wasn’t just RNG, Halo 6 could be a good Halo game.
Going back to Halo’s roots could work very well to improve Halo 6, meaning that they stop using the stupid “enhanced mobility” stuff that was basically stolen from every modern military shooter. Tactical jog, no sprint, no Spartan Abilities, 1-50 rankings, those sorts of things. Also, putting game modes that were in previous games in Halo 6 at day one would help.

Well considering they will probably be building off of halo 5 instead of creating it from scratch like they did with this game I feel it will be fine. Also I actually prefer the mobility, because telling me that a badass spartan can only walk around is kind of lame. Halo is a military shooter, a sci-fi military shooter. We have marines, guns, and are part of a navy fleet. To each their own though, but I don’t see it changing. If they did, they would end up with so many forum posts hating that there is no sprint. Plus can’t you turn sprint off via the options in game? Even in match making I thought you could just like the assassinations.

I say they should build up from what they have, not go backwards. So keeping sprint and new ranks, even though i did prefer the halo 3 ranks. And more gametypes to start the game instead of waiting months.

Eh, different preferences. I like the old gameplay, it sits with me better than the new gameplay and defines what is Halo to me. Not to mention, I can’t handle the faster time to kill on console, because I really suck with a controller. I definitely would prefer a mouse and keyboard to cope with the speed of the game.
