One to end them all

Ever since that halo 4 vidoc came out, these forums have been cluttered with at least 20 different posts all about the same exact thing, and I am tired of it. Why they haven’t been combined into one I have no idea. First of all, none of you know how the game is going to be. None of you have played it, so how are you able to tell if it will fail or succeed?

“Oh, it has sprint and perks in it.” First off, they aren’t cod perks, I’m pretty sure 343 won’t have juggernaut or stopping power or second chance in the game. And second, how do you know how what sprint will be like? What if they modified it? What was wrong with it in the first place?

“Oh, I’m a competitive player, I don’t like these changes at all, it takes no skill.” NO ONE CARES IF YOU’RE COMPETITIVE! When it comes down to it, all fans like Halo, whether you play to have fun, or play to win. Why divide the fan base in such a stupid way? IF you have a problem with some of the changes being made, message 343i or something, instead of making a thread about it where nothing will be accomplished. Don’t lie to yourself, you are going to buy it either way, and if you do not like some of the things in the game, don’t use them, I am sure they won’t force you to.

“Why change Halo? It’s already such a great game!” Yes, it is such a great game, but take a look at a little game I like to call Call of Duty. They do the same thing every year, and one day, they will either be forced to change, or lose 90% of their fan base. Would you want this to happen to Halo? Halo must change to keep up with other games, not drastically to be similar to other games, but to the point where it is improved. You complain about CoD being the same every year, yet you want Halo to be the same every year? WTF?

“But Halo 4 should be the same as Halo 2/3, not Reach.” If you really miss Halo 2 and 3 so much, go play those games. Of course Halo 4 will be able to maintain the original game play of it’s predecessors in separate play lists, but it needs to mainly focus on it’s own. What Halo reach did correctly was it TRIED to move forward, yet still keep the core mechanics of the trilogy, which is what Halo 4 SHOULD do. I am sure some of you have heard this before, but HALO 4 SHOULD BE HALO 4!

Finally, I am sure 343 knows what they are doing. I believe 343 will deliver a great game that will be played for many years to come. Whether or not you do is your business.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

Finally someone says it!

I find your user name suitable for this discussion.

Let people discuss their concerns, i know its annoying but:

  1. You dont have to read them
  2. Its not always the same people talking about it

IDK about you but Im on here pretty often and that makes it seem alot worse than it is.

Another thread with no substance. Regurgitated false information full of generalizations.

Another (says something witty to continue quote trend).

Not even generlizations anymore. A lot of nerd rage going on

One Thread to rule them all,
One Thread to find them,
One Thread to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.

Like I said, full of generalizations and false regurgitated information. Who makes these statement? And if anyone does say this, who are they representing? Only themselves.

Every player (MLG,Competitive,Casual) wants Halo to evolve. No one is afraid of change and every player can adapt. People just don’t want the core elements of Halo to change, such as Balance! No one wants a re-hashed Halo 2/3.

Most of the arguments are valid, why don’t you just try to read with an open mind.

I may be a little tired of all the “pros” raging. care to explain how I am a nerd?

Two words.

Tornado gun.

I agree with what you’re saying, OP, but these kinds of threads don’t add to the discussion, and won’t do anything to prevent people complaining about “perks” and Sprint.

> I may be a little tired of all the “pros” raging. care to explain how I am a nerd?

No one on these forums that I have ever seen as ever called themselves “pro”. They always say that they are just competitive by nature, they play to win. They “learn” how to win and try their hardest to win.

Please stop with this “pro” crap. Its fabricated.

> Agreed. Halo was better when it was actually Halo. Reach is not Halo, Reach is Reach and 343 should have caught on by now. the majority of the Halo Reach “lovers” are people who played maybe 2 or 3 games of Halo 2-3 and when they played 4-5 games of Reach, thought it was better because they played more or couldnt face the fact that it took time to get used to how a real Halo game played. Honestly, Reach is so much more like a CoD than any other Halo game. Thats why 343 chose not to not include Reach aspects (i.e. sprint and soon “perks” or custom loadouts.) Pretty soon everything we knew about Halo will be changed only because Bungie thought Halo would be better off changing its core aspects and gameplay mechanics. 343 should have listened to the complaints about the “unsuccessful multiplayer games” and chose not to include ‘bad’ aspects in Halo 4.

Here ya go, I will gladly find some more examples…

Those people that hate sprint say “we” alot. Just letting you know

I could gnf if its in the game or not

Okay? Don’t you have a blog or something that you can rant on instead of the Halo 4 forum?

That’s what this entire section is for.
343 isn’t going to waste time combining topics that they won’t read anyway.

This part of the forum is just for speculation & venting in an attempt to keep it away from their inbox.
This far into the development, it’s not like they will/can change a whole lot anyway.

Bananas I agree 100000% with you =).

This guy is presenting a compelling argument to the anti-sprint issue going on. No where in it does it say “I don’t want Halo to change”. In fact you can take from this the fear for the loss in game-play balance like I said.

You can see that he is very concerned over lossing the “core and balanced” aspects of Halo which should have never changed. You can make other changes and add things to make certain experiences better but not at the expense of the core and balanced functions.
