One thing I'd like to see return

Is a damn Scarab

Halo 2 had a scripted Scarab but was still awesome.

Halo 3 had smarter Scarabs which fought on their own. It was like the start of a boss fight every time they made their epic entrances. (My favorite was when the two Scarabs dropped in to stop you from entering the Citadel. Epic entrance + Epic Music)

Halo 3:ODST same as Halo 3 which is a good thing. Great boss fight.

Halo:Reach I don’t even want to talk about this because it was the biggest disappointment for me. Scarabs come dropping down like bosses to stop you from reaching the PoA. Then Emile goes on to stay “Avoid them hurrr”. If ODST were able to destroy a Scarab, then I’m pretty sure a Spartan III could do it. Well they did end up killing one but they had to Kamikaze. Biggest tease ever.

Halo 4 didn’t have any scarabs to battle or in any cut scenes. I accepted this because maybe it was a canon issue. Like Jul didn’t have any at his disposal. But then it happened, a flying Scarab called the Lich appeared from behind a mountain. Not an epic entrance like the Scarabs but still cool. It was similar to the Scarab in Halo 2 where it just stood still while you enter it to destroy it. Hopefully History repeats it’s self, Halo 2 (Scripted Scarab) - Halo 3 (Smart Scarab), Halo 4 (scripted Lich) - Halo 5 (Smart Lich). one can only hope.

So please bring back the Scarab/Lich and always give them an epic entrance with good music to go with it. Always loved playing the missions with them. So please 343i bring them back and make them spice up the campaign.

Thanks

Scarabs were my favourite “enemies” in Halo 2 and 3. Those were so fun to fight againts, especially in Halo 3.

Agreed. I personally think we will see the Arbitor in the next Halo, that means we very well may see a Scarab in action again.

I just hope the campaign is about 15+ hours of game play on Heroic settings.

I’d rather fight a Harvester, the Scarabs got boring quick

I’d want to see a destroyable halo 2 style scarab.

> I’d rather fight a Harvester, the Scarabs got boring quick

1st fight:
5 locusts

2nd fight:

2 locusts and a scarab

3rd fight:

2 scarabs and a harvester

These fights will happen over the course of the campaign

Yes, a long campaign would be amazing

I love scarabs no question but probably the reason we didn’t see scarabs in Halo 4 was do to canon.

343 is limiting the possibility of what they can do by following canon. Since this was a rouge group of covenant they probably thought.

“Oh they dont have the resorces the covenant do so no scarab.”

Same with playable elites.

“Oh the war is over the elites have nothing to do with the humans any more so it dosent go with canon. No reason to put them in multiplayer.”

BAD SHOW I SAY VERY BAD SHOW

If Jul’s faction can’t get a hold of a Scarab, then why can they get a Lich, which is much newer technology? Or a Harvester, which is essentially a Scarab?

I don’t know, it feels as though 343i kind of got Lazy on this one… Or perhaps it was just hardware limitations? In any case, I’d love to see a Scarab or a Promethean counterpart in Halo 5 though! Scarab battles were definitely some of the best moments in Halo 3, without a doubht!

Halo reach was supposed to let you fight a scarab and even let you hijack it, but then it got cut i believe due to time.

The level we got (New Alexandria IIRC) was just as good.

But that does not absolve them, their teases were too great.
