One thing I hope they change on the next xbox

This has bothered me for awhile now, and I think I have an idea about why it is, but the fact that any download stops when you play a game with muiltiplayer or such on it bugs the heck out of me. For example with me, when I am downlaoding a games on demand game as big as 6 GBs, it takes awhile, so I just leave my xbox on alot and let it download. Say I want to play a game though, I can’t play halo due to it stopping the download, RDR is out, basically any multiplayer game will stop the download untill I stop playing. How they thought this would be a good idea I have no clue. Does this bug anyone else?

It doesn’t really bother me. In fact, it makes a lot of sense to delay the download while playing a multiplayer game. I would probably experience ungodly amounts of lag if it were allowed to download things while I was playing Halo 4 or Battlefield.

Yeah I understand why they do it, for me it takes a day or two to download a game though or more. I don’t like the thought of leaving my xbox on all night, or alot for that matter. My interent isn’t all the fastest out there. I think though with the next xbox having more power and all they should drop this and let it be able to download while you play, unless this strickly has to do with internet connection and not hardware.

It has to do with your Network and Xbox Live’s Network. Like you can only either download content while playing a game offline or play a game online and not download any content except for whats in the game your playing.

Xbox Live does have convergence though, when you play a game you can text and voice chat while playing, its just understandable that you can’t do two completely separate things at once without the other getting effected. Like if you were downloading content while playing a game online, your online game would be laggy or you’d be automatically kicked out of it. Its better this way, your good throughput (Bandwidth that you usually get) will be used to full effectiveness when it does one thing at time.
