One thing everyone agrees on 343i

When frank said something like there were to many voices for the game to be like you wanted I thought yh but why are the maps so bad . I haven’t found anyone yet who disagrees the maps are crap . There all so generic and boring . There are also far to many big team maps and not enough small maps . The only map that stands out as rememberable to me is haven . When I look back at halo 3 I see amazing maps like the pit And guardian . Reach didn’t have amazing maps either bit for me the Dlc maps were great including the one in space . The crimson map packs are boring and the only map I like is harvest and that is because of the story behind harvest and the start of the covenant war . I just hope the other 2 map packs are better and I can’t wait for the forge made maps playlist

I present to you, myself, who disagrees.
the maps are good. not all are exceptional, but overall they’re better than halo 3’s and reach’s.
we’ll never play on halo 2 tier maps again, thats sad. unless 343i goes full fan service and finally makes a full “nostalgia” map pack with all the maps from H2…

I don’t think every map is bad. Haven is pretty nice and I like vortex.

The next map pack is focusing on smaller 4v4 maps anyway.

I cant see how you think these are better then halo 3’s . Halo 3’s maps were amazing not just in my opinion but loads of people’s . Even if you like them you gotta admit there’s not enough small maps at the moment

The maps are not crap, they are just worse than other halo’s and way to big.
Like complex, Is way to big for a slayer map, 8vs8 or 6vs6 should be played on that map not 4vs4

You don’t know generic until you’ve played any of the Reach launch maps…

It seems like the only reason you say the maps are bad is becasue there aren’t enough small maps. Just wait till majestic comes out in February then, and your needs will be fulfilled.

These maps are very good and pretty much balanced the only reason people could call them “generic” ,I beieve, is because 343 was playing it too safe with the maps. They tried to appeal to everyone with the designs and ended up with maps without that much imagination.

> You don’t know generic until you’ve played any of the Reach launch maps…

Agreed but for me the Dlc maps more then made up for that .

> I cant see how you think these are better then halo 3’s . Halo 3’s maps were amazing not just in my opinion but loads of people’s . Even if you like them you gotta admit there’s not enough small maps at the moment

I grew up with halo 2’s mp.
it’s like tasting the most delicious chocolate in the world, then being given fudge and being told “that’s the same thing!”. well it’s not.
the pit is bad. snowbound is bad. isolation is bad. guardian was average. valhalla? nowhere near coagulation, etc.

these maps from H4 remind me of halo 2’s maps. there’s just not enough maps in general.

I agree halo 2’s maps were amazing and yes they surpassed halo 3’s and I also agree halo 4 doesn’t have enough maps . But the pit was a bad map ? No way I loved everything about it . The sniper towers making a deadly sniper war , the fight for the rocket launcher as soon as the game started . The fulfilment of going the invisible power up way and flanking people . The ambitious moment when you fight for the sword and have to see if someone has it and the amazing MLG capture the flag on it

> I haven’t found anyone yet who disagrees the maps are crap . There all so generic and boring . There are also far to many big team maps and not enough small maps .

I disagree strongly,

Haven: Great
Adrift: Great
Abandon: Bad
Complex: Bad
Exile: Great
Ragnarok: Good
Vortex: Good
Meltdown: Bad
Longbow: Good
Solace: Good
Harvest: Great
Shatter: Good
Wreckage: Bad

Great: 4
Good: 5
Bad: 4

So in my opinion the maps are equal to or perhaps slightly better than Reach and a long shot from terrible overall.

Define “Generic and boring” because I cant see where you’re coming from with this one. My only issue is too many damn rocks in the way of my warthog and even thats not a huge deal.

As for too many big maps, the next map pack is 2 small maps and one medium map and is due out in about 6 weeks. And not 343 small but small small according to Bravo. And we also have the Forge Test playlist coming on the 21st to test small forge maps for entry into matchmaking.

TLDR: So to be honest your whole post is sort of pointless and wrong.

I say bad, but that’s compared to halo 2.
it goes like that in my book : H2>H4=H3>Reach

when I say generic and boring I mean they have no character nothing to remember them by like on halo 3 standoff was a map in the middle of nowhere it was at a communications base and looked the part ,last resort was a beach one side and a base in the other , cold storage was a map in a lab with flood in test labs , isolation althogh it was bad was a map in snow , the pit was a training base which stood out as fascinating , all halo 4’s maps are nothing but rocks everywhere there not rememberable , haven is rememberable due to its amazing map design .

Ok I understand what you mean now, you’re talking about aesthetically? While I do agree with you for the most part I have to disagree with some maps. Personally I think Exile (I’m a sucker for green grass and brown cliffs in BTB maps), Adrift (come on, I mean a repurposed mining station hurtling through space is awesome), Solace (a facility designed to extend the life of stars near the end of their life) and Harvest (where the human - covie war started) are pretty memorable.

And I apologise for saying your post was pointless and wrong, that was needlessly harsh.

You can’t be serious…

nah it’s cool lol probs was before I mentioned that about the character of them but yh I like harvest to it has something to remember it by , solace meh not to keen on that I didn’t even know that to you mentioned that and adrift yh I gotta admit the massive mantis stands out bit that’s about it to me nothing stands of as a mining station Just long corridors and man cannons

At the end of the day though its how the maps play that matter and whether or not we still remember them like we do with the likes of Blood Gulch, Hang em High or Prisoner. And we probably wont apart from a few that I mentioned earlier.

Most of them are boring, but there are exceptions.

. Agreed at the end of the day but I did have a lot higher hopes for the maps because 343i are a new company and I expected them to have fresh ideas map wise but yh most of the maps play fine aside from complex

Looks like there are quite a few people that disagree including myself.
