Maybe have pieces that support cross core? I think most of all, the game needs cross core coatings. I feel like that really isn’t too much to ask for.
Currently you can’t change your leg armor, so I don’t think you’d have to worry about. And I think with Tenrai bring what it is people would understand more if certain things were restricted regarding it. But MK VII and MK V [B] are so similar there it just seems to make so much sense to let you mix and match them.
I don’t think you’ll ever be able to put cat ears on a chest plate, even if we get cross core.

It seems pretty clear that the MK V and MK VII are designed in a way to make the pieces interchangeable without clipping issues which is pretty great if it ever gets added, but the Tenrai stuff (from the waypoint customization bug) just doesn’t mesh with those two models and Vice Versa. So realistically only some cores/pieces should be interchangeable in some specific cases.
I do like the individual core idea for continuity’s/differentiation’s sake, but unfortunately it’s pretty clear that this wasn’t the only reason it was implemented.
I’d be fine with armor that clips. It’s bring us one step closer to haven (halo 3).
I know there were a few pieces that clipped, but for the life of me I can’t remember what they are. Was it the Hayabusa chest piece and larger helmets?

To be honest, I don’t mind armour pieces being core locked. I find the store more frustrating because I can’t access some of the Reach armour I want right now, even if I were willing to pay for it despite them being old designs.
The coatings and visor colours being core locked are really the most frustrating core locked elements for me. I really want to use the Campaign skins on the Mark V(B) core.
I think part of why it’s annoying though, is because with the core restrictions 343 can sell you the MK V helmet twice (they are), or ODST twice (they are). It feels really scummy.
I’m not gonna make an Instagram and follow you just to see that pic, but I disagree, because bots and the Waypoint app can mix armors, coatings, and kits, and it looks great, mostly, with occasional clipping, but idc about clipping. 343 just disabled it to sell us coatings and visors over and over again.

Cross core coatings is what’s needed. We don’t need a bunch of cursed armour sets running around.
Idk man, Halo 3 MCC had wicked cool customization options imo. They just needed the lights customization from Halo Online. I truly believe you could slap all of Halo CE, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 5, Online, Reach, and all the non-canon MCC armors, into one super core, then slap Yoroi and Iron Eagle in there, and it would just work somehow. Main issue is that Infinite uses Halo 5 body kits instead of Halo 3 and 4 body customization, with Reach fridge magnets. They need chest, arm, and leg customization. It could definitely work. 343 just wants us to suffer and buy the same colors 20 times.

Yeah, fair enough, that feels scummy. If ODST works on two cores then you should only have to buy the design once. Any future cores that could use it should have it unlocked if you’ve already bought it too.

No thanks cross cores (especially mark v & mark VII) need to be a thing. Customisation sucks atm and we was promised a huge range free.
