I’m going to describe what it’s like for me to play Halo: MCC right now so that 343 knows of this particular experience (if someone gets to this) and so that I can see if others are experiencing this similar, specific issue.
It’s always hard to get a game - it’s been consistently difficult and frustrating every day since launch and I’ve seen little to no improvement regardless of the patches.
Now, when I play, it will randomly state the following message when I try to do a search with my friend/party:
“One or more players are not ready to start matchmaking” despite this very much not being the truth.
Then, if one of us switches who the party leader is, we’re then able to bypass that message and search, and, after a long wait, sometimes we get a game.
We’ve gotten two games in forty-five minutes.
After the game is over, one of us becomes locked in the post-game lobby while the other gets sent back to the playlists. We’ve discovered that if we just don’t touch anything, and we just wait like five minutes, we eventually both get sent back to the playlists screen, but then the party leader is reversed. And then we have to repeat the process over again - switching leaders because of the “one or more players” message (keep in mind we’re both all updated and have good connections with open nats).
At the time of this writing we’re able to join parties and start a search, but then we get separated into to different searches and different games.
It’s just a very disheartening, miserable, confusing experience. Any insight into if others have encountered this issue or a fix to such issues would be helpful. It just seems hopeless, and that’s painful when this game was meant to be the rebirth of not only beloved Halo, but genuinely competitive, ranked matchmaking.
Thank you for reading.
