One of these two things can really help coating customization

I think (and many other people possibly) think that the current coating system is a bit lackluster. I have two ideas that we could get to fix this (for Armor Coatings specifically):

  1. Cross-core coatings

  2. Being able to apply any coatings you have for an Armor Core on any individual part of the armor

For the second one, an example would be to apply the Platinum Anniversary coating on the helmet and chest, but apply the Shadow Sorel coating on the rest of the armor plates. I personally believe that this is somewhat of a solid idea, but what do you think?

First off, lackluster doesn’t begin to describe it.

Second, I like the idea. But personally, I think there should be more default coatings. And more free ones you earn through events/weekly challenges.
And maybe you could merge coatings, like you unlock the colors and can merge them with other coatings

Yeah but will their UI support it?

Coatings should do patterns for armors, not colors. When we apply the pattern to a spartan, we’re then given the choice on what colors for each part of the pattern we want to see on our spartan.

As we currently have it, we’re 100% reliant on someone else picking colors they think look nice on Spartans and have to pray that if we want the color set up we want to see on our Spartans, they will eventually add it to the game.

I want to put Red and Purple on my Mark V Spartan, similar to how I had him in Halo Reach. But the likely hood that will ever be a thing is complete luck.

I’m actually rather lucky that one of my favorite color combo’s is in the game from Quake. Which was Yellow and Blue. Was able to finally get the Funko Pop toy cheap enough to get the coat for my Mark VII spartan:

Now I can feel at least somewhat unique from other players as I play, since I don’t see this coat very often on other people.

I don’t get this. What I was talking about was the ability to apply any existing coatings on individual armor pieces.
