One new map acceptable?

Hmmm,
No, I don’t recall any of the assets from Forge World being in the Reach Campaign at all…

The first title update for Halo Reach was covered by 343i on September 21st, 2011, Just over 1 year after launch.

Reach however, was not a live service game. It was a full release.

Your argument suggests those doing weapon balancing are the same team responsible for designing and implementing new maps into the game? Do you have any evidence to support this?

In your opinion those responsible for the stockpile bug fix this week are also those doing map testing and putting finishing touches on the 2 new maps?

A little bit of content over such a long time frame is kinda poor to be fair, and the weapon balance and sandbox changes they are looking to make- what will be the timeframe to adjust or undo these changes if they break the game or cause something else to bubble to the top of the issue pile?

Are you happy if it takes them another 3-6 months to address these next issues?

The main thing that I’m waiting for in Halo Infinite is Forge and the ability to create and share maps to the hole community. However, the most essential part eith Forge is that it should at least be on par or better than the Halo 5 Forge.

However, when it comes to content. Quality should always matter more highly than quantity. It’s more essential that the maps are of high quality and that they are designed with the love that all of us demand.

Trees, rocks, textures, props you use in Forge.
The only thing new Forge World offered was the arrangement of the topography and the structures items.

Forge literally is just allowing players to use in-game assets and including some new stuff to keep it interesting.

No I am not.
But they are also understaffed so it will take time.

I’m looking at the map “the cage” from halo reach’s multiplayer suite.

Tell
Me exactly which campaign mission used these exact forerunner pieces of forge geometry please….

Ooof… yeah I also can’t believe this is all they are offering. Also, no new weapons, vehicles, PVE content? Campaign updates?

Jeez…

I would like to see some of the classic maps that made Halo so damn popular!! :fist_right: :fist_left:

IE: bloodgulch, Sidewinder, Danger Canyon, Death Island ETC. ETC!

I mean, their mid-season update was just a glorified, bi-weekly patch for any other game, what’d you expect?

Very little, sadly. I can certainly hope, but I’m getting tired of it lol.

not when call of duty has almost put out 5-6 in half of the time

these are good maps but what about the classic 1v1 map hang’em high

Is it BLAM!

Are 343i even capable of doing a significant update? This game is a handful of playlists, a handful of maps and the worst progression system in any game EVER.

Sure. Gameplay is solid,

Now don’t tell me it takes >300 people this amount of time to:

knock up some customs and to segment them within a playlist,

Work out and implement challenges for individual playlists,

Allow colour changes,

Flagship enterprise. Halo. Let’s be honest, 7 people are working on this game and the rest are asleep at home or working on the next disaster.

The fact of the matter is the game was delayed and was still released with so little.

So, yes. We expected more maps with season 2. We expected all of our game modes on release. We still haven’t been given them because “the release of certain game modes will negatively impact the other playlists.”

343 and their refusal to release a MCC style composer with all game types has “negatively impacted the playlists.” 343 and their shallow pool of content has “negatively impacted playlists.”

We expected a finished product that was made better with each season and as time progressed. That hasn’t happened and doesn’t show any signs of happening soon.

One arena map and one BTB map isn’t enough and is inexcusable.

Their refusal of adding a match composer has nothing to do with “gamemode health” and “player matchmaking health”
It has to do with, it would ruin their RNG based challenge system

I would instead analyse the problem with the perspective that 343 Industries doesn’t have any malice intention and attempts to make the gsme as good as possible.

From this perspective, the main reasoning that a match composer similar to the one seen in MCC hasn’t been implemented is time constraints. If we take the seasonal updates in MCC as an example, we didn’t get every single feature from the seasonal updates within a single month. These features did instead get added within a timespan of 1.5 years. The same can also be said with Halo 5 where the last major update got added in approximately 1.5 years after the release of the game. Before the last major update for Halo 5, the game was unfortunately in a pretty badd state with multiple issues. The same can also be said about other games like Minecraft which has continously been updated for a bit more than 10 years after the official release.

The unfortunate truth with game devrlopment like explained with the examples above, it takes a lot of time to make a high quality game. One year is a relativrly short time period when it comes to game development.

We all know game development takes time, no one is saying it doesn’t.
But the fact is, after 6 months, they have a pitiful amount of content for us.
Within 1.5 years (18 months) they will still have a pitiful amount of content for us

The Cage is a forge-map preset to showcase how Forge was enhanced. Forge World is the actual map, which is the only new map in the game that wasn’t featured in the campaign.

Until DLC Packs came around, every single one of the multiplayer maps in the game were ares from the Campaign. Which ultimately is genius as you give good arenas for PvE engagements and then they serve a multiplayer purpose as well.

I mean, given their backlog, yeah. I didn’t expect even one.

“Acceptable” is a super loaded term.

Enough would be the word I would use instead. Is just one more map enough to bring the kind of variety that players have been sorely hurting for in this game? I’d say no, personally.

Any new content is a welcome addition, but one map and a few modes aren’t likely going to resolve the core player retention problem this game has.

Yeah, it is ridiculous.

Even if they did release more than 1x Arena map, I’m sure there would be a multitude of complaints about the map design and exploits. The maps that they do release had better be solid and well designed otherwise they will be another nail in the Halo Infinite coffin.
