one hit melee needs to one hit spartan charge

This pisses me off so much. I have a melee weapon that kills someone in one hit but because i’m sprinting it doesn’t work. It’s so annoying to have to stop sprinting to take them out and it doesn’t make any sense. This applys to the energy sword, gravity hammer. bayonet, etc. If you disagree please help me understand why.

On second thought, maybe not the sword or hammer because they can still be activated. The bayonet on the other hand can’t be activated while sprinting so I still think it needs a fix.

I would prefer it if when you were sprinting that you have absolutely no offence what so ever. I don’t want anything to buff the Spartan charge. No armor mods no power ups nothing.

I would like to see it removed completely. But that isn’t going to happen.

melee while sprinting is very similar concept to SC. Especially with the lunge you get with the bayonet weapons.

It actually makes some when you think about it. The Spartan charge is a shoulder bash, not a melee so you gun never hits you enemy when you use it. When you melee regularly, you bash with you gun so if you have a bayonet it hits. However, if you melee from sprint you put you gun down and smash into the enemy. So basically, any benefit the bayonet would give you doesn’t apply because you aren’t using it during a spartan charge

They could easily add another animation for these weapons. It would look allot cooler and realistically I doubt I’d put my one hit weapon down to hit them with my shoulder.

Get rid of sprint and you won’t have this problem.

Anyway, I wouldn’t want your suggestion since it will just turn into what the one hit kill speed boost turned into with people spamming it nonstop.

They aren’t getting rid of sprint and I don’t want them to. Either way I’m talking about Halo 5 not Halo 6, lets keep this conversation real.

This is different than the speed boost problem because you have to wait for a higher REQ level, you have to have a one hit melee weapon, and you don’t have the added speed boost. All this is doing is ruining you’re weapon if you run into an enemy while sprinting.

You don’t have to wait long though. I think a sword is level 3 or 4 and you can get one in the beginning of the game on some maps from an Elite. In arena, you can get one throughout the game as well.

With that being said, you shouldn’t be rewarded for sprinting anyway. The spartan charge already does that and it rewards mindlessly running around the map which is bad. The same thing will happen if your suggestion was implemented.

It depends… are you hitting the melee button or trigger… If you do it with melee button, its just going to be a shoulder bash.

Having the full damage of your current weapon isn’t a reward it’s a given, cutting it’s damage in half is a punishment and you shouldn’t be punished for using a core movement feature. I don’t see mindlessly running around the map working out too well in Warzone. In Arena, people already mindlessly run around so I don’t see much changing there.

I don’t think it makes a difference unless you’re using a bayonet. I’ll have to try it out again to remember.

I don’t think one hit weapons should even be a thing. Total BS. You basically get an energy sword without the limited energy and it also shoots! I can’t even comprehend how anyone thought that it was a good idea.

But if you want to shoot you can just pull the trigger. If you want to melee and you hit the melee button it’s just worse if i’m sprinting. Maybe if spartan charge and melee were different buttons I wouldn’t have an issue. Thanks for pointing that out though, it’s a good point.

I think they just recently changed the hammer to a non-lethal charge in the MoR update

Because it’s fun. I haven’t had any issues with it and I hardly ever die from it, even when playing Warzone Turbo. It really isn’t that much of an advantage.

That pissed me off because I never even knew it was a one hit kill in the first place. Maybe I’m lucky but outside of Griffball I never got charged with the hammer. I feel stupid now that I think about it.

This.

The sprint is for moving quickly, with a built-in cost. The cost being that you cannot use a projectile weapon while sprinting and there’s also a delay to preventing shooting straight out of sprint (with one loadout exception).

The OP’s suggestion is to not only eliminate the cost of sprint, but to also give it a buff. Nope, I’m not supporting that.
