I was searching YouTube for videos on Halo 5 and found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCC499Gf4DY criticizing TMCC (somewhat constructively). I think the person in the video makes some very good points, but undermines himself with making it a bit long-winded. He seemed to take the stance of objective know-it-all and quickly lost my respect when he started using vulgarity (I just don’t see a need for it when you have a topic worth merit to speak about). I have a YouTube channel (the link is on my profile if you’re nosy), I use vulgarity. I however don’t take positions on my channel because it’s mostly about comedy and my cat. I’m not saying I don’t respect people who speak passionately from their heart and slip-up and throw in a curse or two, but I watched this for almost 20 minutes and feel like if he took his energy level/vulgarity level down a little, more people would take videos like this seriously. Overall, I was impressed listening to what they had to say. I don’t agree with it all (he called Halo 4, “trash”), but he was well-spoken enough to get my attention and ultimately I could overlook the fact that the video was way too long to convey the points he was aiming to make. Around 16 minutes in… I busted out laughing. I’m sure the dude didn’t mean for it to be funny, but I couldn’t help myself. He was talking like a coach, in a sports movie, trying to inspire his team to win… even though he knows they’re going to lose. And I know, I should have broken this into two paragraphs, but I just, for once, wanted to see what it felt like to cram it all into one big clusterluck of a bad mama-jama!
What are your thoughts? Are videos like this good or bad?
