once a snowball gets rolling....

seriously, as much as i WANT to love warzone for all the variety it brings to the weapon sandbox…it’s pretty crazy how fast games can snowball. get a couple of hotshots on the other team, next thing you know, bam 3 ghost, a scorpion, and some banshees are all raining death on you while you are at level 2. and can do literally nothing to defend the onslaught.

ooh and don’t you dare leave, the almighty ban hammer will also reign upon you. which is a bit harsh giving the unranked, unbalanced nature of the mode.

really really feel, if warzone returns (it will because how much money they made) there should be a surrender button of sorts, it you are going to pretend to be a moba (which is what warzone is doing) then you should include a surrender button, because once a snowball starts rolling down a hill,

pre edit: i do enjoy war zone assault quite a bit, far less of a snowball effect.

I see where you’re coming from. An even warzone game is the best type by far. The only advice I can give is kill as many early game AI as possible, they make a difference if you kill a lot. Make sure you cap your first base, and okay smart so you don’t have an early death. At req 3 get a BR and a plasma caster and you can do some serious crowd control and the mid base. At 4 you can get blood of suban or whiplash and you’ve effectively snowballed yourself. I know some games it wont be possible but if you play cautious it will, so long as you arent versing a fireteam.

I get what you are saying. Sometimes the scoring is really off-balance and things really start to get heavy, especially after the first base capture/loss. However does this always happen. I encountered what you experienced twice; A huge army of vehicles, it was as if everyone in the enemy team spawned a power vehicle. I believe you encountered a coordinated and communicating opposition.

I see where you’re coming from, and I understand that sometimes it is just impossible to pull yourself back. Though after the most recent update I feel that changed, as a game where I joined late and my team was losing by a few hundred points. Before this update that would mean an indefinite loss, but by focusing on bosses and whatnot we managed not to only catch up but surpass them in points gaining the victory. I feel that Warzone feels different now, and the matches take longer to complete, but that’s just me.

I don’t play enough Warzone assault to know if a snowball effect is prevalent or not, but I’ll take your word for it!

Great advice. This is what I try to do too, and usually place high in my team. Even if we lose, I still have fun racking up a few good kills.

I hate when that onslaught occurs. I can barely request for anything. So hard!

I hate it when you encounter a spartan company in warzone. So hard to get through with their coordination and all.

Yep, pretty much spot on. It doesn’t happen as often in WZ Assault due to the fact its a incremental stage mode, so if the timer expires the game is over, there isn’t a core or a secondary objective to complete like if you had captured all three bases in the regular WZ.

Sounds like it’s time for some Arena… it’s where the real men play.

A lot of people seem hesitant to use req energy early for some reason but its the way to go. Hail storm, open hand , plasma caster do WORK at req level 3 and it just sky rockets your energy.

Yes, warzone matches have a tendency to snowball into blowout matches and there are a few reasons for that. The whole system of req energy leads to a “rich get richer” situation in which the team with more req energy is able to call in more powerful stuff to get even more req energy, and so on…

Also, when players feel like their team is losing, they are less likely to call in powerful reqs, simply because they’d be wasted. It’s like, nobody’s going to call in their Oni scorpion when the score is 500 to 900. Warzone Turbo solves some of these issues, to an extent. I wish they’d make it permanent.

Just because a game mode has PvE and PvP elements at the same time does not mean it’s pretending to be a MOBA. Hell, Overwatch has more MOBA qualities than Halo 5’s Warzone, and Overwatch isn’t a MOBA!

Warzone games get one sided so fast if your not careful. For the most part I just play ffa and firefight now.

it has boss camps (bosses: warden enternal), it has a personal leveling system (the req power system), it has creeps (the marines), it has a store (the req stops or on respawn), it even has a tower system of sorts with the whole capture all three bases, and then take out the core. it’s literally a first person moba.

the only thing it doesn’t have is special abilities and supers… oh wait you can get damage boost, higher health, and faster movement speeds?? those sound like potions for me.

if you think abilities are the only thing that a moba is, then that’s why you don’t see that this is halo’s take on the moba scene while still being halo.

bro, i would loooooooooooooooooooove to play arena, but without JIP it’s pretty stressful worrying if your rando’s will leave or not.

I usually only play Warzone Assault as well. It helps that you can’t match a full party of 12 in it. All the full lobbies just play regular WZ now.
