On Sensitivity Changing When Zoomed

Hello, I find it completely disorienting when the sensitivity changes when I zoom in with a weapon. I zoom in to get a better look and to see where I’m aiming, not to slow down my sensitivity. I am aware that there are options to individually change the sensitivity of each zoom option, but that is tedious and imperfect. I want my sensitivity to be consistent through the entirety of my play time. My muscle memory is trained to my specific sensitivity, so it would only make sense that I should have it at that sensitivity the entire time.

I am here to request that 343i adds an option to disable mouse sensitivity changing when zooming in.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Sector Fox

Can’t you just take a minute and make all the settings “1.0x” across the board?

That is default, and doesn’t fix the issue.

So, are you saying that the setting options are sort of “lying” to you? Like, they’re changing something behind the scenes that is more challenging to equalize than the setting options make it seem?

I am requesting you try and play with the sensitivity changes yourself instead of trying to create an unhealthy debate of the issue.

Adding to this comment: This post is only referring to the default options. The most success I’ve had with making the sensitivity consistent from zoomed in to not zoomed in is setting all zoomed in values to 1.4x. My non scoped sensitivity is 1.1x.

Saying I am imagining things, i.e. “gaslighting” me, or mocking me is not going to help this topic go in any constructive direction.

“unhealthy debate”?? Mate, I’m being sincere. I don’t mean “lying” in a mocking way. I mean to ask if what you’re asking is, if the game settigns are actually not accurate, and “1.0x” is misleading.

1.0x is relative to the default sensitivity of being zoomed in, which is lower than when not zoomed in. So, yes. The options for the sensitivity slider on the weapons should be relative to your non zoomed in sensitivity, as expected.

I understand what you’re saying now, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Oh I see, that’s good to know. Ya i get that. They should at least make the description of the options more accurate/helpful.

Yeah, and the sensitivity shouldn’t be different by default. Seems like an odd “feature” a surprising amount of PC shooters have.

On controller especially, a “unified sensitivity” option should be available, which would disable the custom zoom sensitivities and scale your zoom sensitivities accordingly with your main one in a way that’s in line with games that only have one sensitivity option.

Seconding this for Mouse and Keyboard options as well.
