Now this isn’t a major complaint and I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but the on-screen XP that pops up in the middle of the screen whenever you get a kill/assist seems like it will be annoying.
I always hated it when a game throws numbers at me like that. It just feels intrusive and unnecessary. I get why some people would like it, but I personally don’t. Hopefully 343 will make it optional, but I doubt it.
So is it bugging anyone else, or is it just me?

Ya, there have been complaints like this for a while. I don’t know why 343 doesn’t change it, it seems like just a stupid feature. I feel fine having it on the side, it doesn’t have to come up right where I’m trying to aim…
Not the first thread I’ve seen about it so no, you’re not alone. I myself think it’s a nice addition since it tells you when you got an kill/assist, and how much it was worth, without having to look down the corner. Also, it’s better when you play splitscreen since the info is in the “centre” of the aim for both players, bigger text and easier to read.
However, I can understand if you don’t like it and I wouldn’t mind if it was a toggle on/off feature.

I guess then there is hope of 343 having some sort of toggle feature. I wouldn’t want them to take it out completely, as some people do prefer it, but a toggle would be nice

I have to admit, it wasn’t too bad most of the time, and I wouldn’t always notice it, but every now and then it would jump out at me
… I don’t find it that intrusive, but a toggle feature would be nice to keep everyone at ease.
I would like it off to the side, like the credits were.
I think the points is the only thing I have to complain about this game. So far it seems to be only (hopefully) for regicide and infinity slayer to show points counting towards your ordnance drop and points asking in regicide…
I really hope they do not implement this feature in every game type or at least give us the option to turn it off

I forgot all about them to be honest. It might just be because I was too focused on the rest though. I guess we’ll see once it comes out.
Dont worry, it wont be that bad. I play MW3 and they have it as well, pus everything happanes so quickly so that happenes more often. I barley notice it. It didnt really affect how i play.
I promise that most players will hardly notice this when playing,
When i was at E3 i was lucky enough to play alot, The first play i got on Halo 4 was awesome, I was so focused on exploring the MP and soaking up the goodness of the game itself, That i didn’t even notice the XP pop ups.
I think this will be the same with alot of you guys too.

That is the gametype called Infinity Slayer, you get points for kills and things.
I know this is going to make me widely unpopular, but I’ve played a lot of Battlefield and CoD over the years, and one thing that always bugged me was that in Halo Reach, the points you earned were so far away from where you tend to be looking on the screen.
In a quick mad rush where you get more than a few kills, it’s difficult to keep looking to the side of the screen to see what points you got for what you did, where as in other games it appears right near the reticule in a non-obtrusive way.
I’m glad to see it in halo 4.
This ‘center screen kill feed’ ANNOYED the hell out of me when I was watching game play videos…
THEN, when I actually played h4, i didn’t notice it at all (lol no kills, jk)…
I prefer this than the text coming out halfway across the screen saying “JSA343 killed personwithareallylongname with a headshot”.
Besides, people who played it said they barely noticed it in gameplay.
I don’t even notice it unless I’m looking out for, it’s tiny. It doesn’t affect gameplay at all.
If you think this is bad, you haven’t played Halo 2 online multiplayer.

If they move it to the top middle, that would be great. In the end, it won’t bother me that much.
Oh yeah, I had forgotten about it. To be honest, I hadn’t noticed it at all while watching the UNSC weapons video. I’m sure I’ll be able to say the same when I play the game itself too.
