On playlists with tu gametypes...

Who thought it would be a good idea to bring back shield bleed through? Why would I want to play Halo 3 if I put reach in my xbox. Please change it back because the only gametypes available in multi-team are the TU playlists and I would like to play Reach, not a deformed version of Halo 3.

Theres over 20 other playlists, and theres also custom games, please use those.

And yes, reach is unfortunatly a deformed version of H3.

I think that just about every change 343i has made to Halo Reach so far has been for the better, even shield bleed through.

actually, it does the exact opposite.

let me also add that this is not an opinion, it is fact.

bleedthru makes the random sprint + double derp tactic work a whopping ZERO PERCENT of the time.

WITH bleedthru if you try to sprint and double derp someone they’ll just shoot you and punch you and you are DEAD.

BS, remember that double sprint melee stuff? It’s not effective with the new bleedthrough shields. You’re much dead if you have weak shields, i love doing that to kids expecting an easy kill.

So now players will have to shoot their guns instead of running around the map and double pummel for easy kills.

BUT WHY IS IT IN MULTI TEAM!?

Bleed-through is a fine feature and makes the game gun a lot more smoothly - when it involves punching. Unfortunately, because it affects bullets too there is an inconsistency in how many shots it takes to kill people with headshots, depending on their health. Now, if they have between orange and red health, or any amount of red health, a shot to the head at low shields will kill them. Take the same gentleman with full or almost-full health, and you’d need to put one shot in him to pop the shields and then one shot to the head for a kill.

That’s not inconsistency. That is like going into a 1v1 with 75% shield. If you have less health of course you’ll take less shots to kill.

So you played Halo since the beginning, and think Reach is the greatest one yet. No that’s not what I’m laughing at, even though it is funny. You are quitting the game because 3 playlists out of about 20 have changed to TU settings. Wow…

343i has done an abysmal job at updating Reach. I love the TU but it must be applied across all playlists.

-Take bleed through out of TU
-Apply TU across all playlists (except for 1 or 2 separate vanilla playlists)
-Rename all TU gametypes their default name opposed to “TU slayer”. (so basically a TU slayer would be called slayer)

No, I never said I was leaving Reach. I will continue to play with my friends when they want to play and I will still keep playing reach. What I am saying is that I will most likely not be continuing to play the games that are coming after Reach after seeing the Direction that 343 is heading with what they think is optimal Reach multi-player. Thanks for addressing this because I would not have thought to clarify that for those who might mistake my statement for something that it is not.

So instead they take a few shots then rush in and melee once (instead of twice) for the kill. Takes only 6 hits from an AR or Plasma Repeater, or 3 from a Magnum, DMR, Needle Rifle, Needler, Plasma Rifle, or Spiker to do this, or 2 from a Plasma Pistol.

Both systems have pro’s and con’s. Would you rather Put 5 AR bullets in, and they put in none, and then you both trade with 2 melees? or 3 DMR bullets and you still both trade?

And come on; no one uses the PR’s or Spiker in MM (and it’s not like they didn’t need a buff anyway), and no one is going to try and needle you at melee range. I personally think that bleed through has more of a skill gap than the old system but maybe that’s just me.

Regardless, I really don’t know WHY they put the TU settings in multi team. Like honestly, the multi team warriors most likely weren’t too fond of the TU settings as multi team was as Reach as Reach gets.

I was just explaining how bleedthrough doesn’t solve the problem of eliminating easy melee kills. You just have to use a different technique for doing so.

That’s simply not true. People use both the Plasma Repeater and Plasma RIfle [not sure which you mean by PR] and the Spiker in MM. As for the Needler, I have been charged while armed with one, and in desperation fired off a few shots then meleed. But I have also started experimenting with using it on purpose in melee range because of its effectiveness, and so far it’s been working beautifully. A rapid three shots and a melee is an almost instant kill. So why not use it in melee range? Be imaginative!
