On My X...

Let me start out by saying that i do not think this game is bad, but it needs ALOT of fixing at the moment. My main problem with the game is that the developers removed the “X” that appears over a teammate when he/she dies in-game. Throughout my time playing Halo the #1 callout has always been “…on my x”, but with the X now gone callouts are very difficult to utilize. Now whether or not you play competitively or not you must admit that communication is incredibly important in every Halo game up to this point. Also, if you play Team Slayer Pro there is no motion sensor, so there is literally no way to know where your teammates are dying. This is just my opinion, feel free to share your thoughts.

I have very few complaints about this game myself, but this is one of them. It does seem like a simple fix, but I’m no programmer. Hopefully the next TU will address this

Yep said sniper on my x last night then quickly realized that I have no x. I also don’t like the fact that I can’t tell which of my teammates in the distance are firing. Their icon used to turn yellow.

The removal of the “X” goes both ways. Dead men do not talk, and i know that i wouldn’t like a dead man giving away my position i worked so hard to get into. Wait til you respawn, get a few friends together and go to the last location you died. Simple as that.

I find it laughable that this isn’t in the game. There are many things that existed and were useful in previous Halo titles that have simply been removed with no explanation whatsoever, whilst pretty much 90% of the stuff that’s been added is utter crap, IMO.

Hopefully stuff like this will be fixed ASAP. I’m not hugely excited about the notion of having to wait three months for a TU fix.

its on the radar now

I hope they fix ordnance markers soon. They simply don’t work in BTB and glitch in Infinity Slayer from time to time.

The X marker definitely needs to return. Why it was removed in the first place baffles me.

I think the game would play allot better if they put in a 3 second respawn timer as well, but i doubt that will happen.

Did you actually read his post? He said that. He also said there’s no way of seeing where people die in Slayer Pro since there is no radar.

Taking the X’s off the screen is yet another thing that 343 took out for no reason.

I too was surprised this was removed. Yes, it is on the radar now, but this is assuming you are close enough for it to show up (and assuming you are in playlist that has radar).
I guess people will have to actually learn callouts. O_O

But why take it out of the game? I do not understand there is absolutely no point in removing it. It has been a huge part of playing competitively and working together in every Halo up to this point.

> its on the radar now

I understand that, but why move it to the radar?
