ON MY THIRD ELITE CONTROLLER

Got my first Elite controller back in January. A little bit over 3 months LB broke, took it to Microsoft store. They told me there’s nothing they can do because controller was over the 90 days warranty. Being already accustomed to the Elite and couldn’t stand playing Halo 5 on a standard controller, I shell out another $150 plus tax, and shipping, and a 2 year warranty for a grand total of $183 I had me a new controller on the way. 2 months and 5 days later LB broke again. Except this time I was within the Microsoft 90 days warranty. Instead of sending it back to Walmart I took it to the Microsoft store, and they swap it for a new one right on the spot. Now having my 3rd Elite controller. I’m afraid LB is going to give out on me again. I can’t fathom why this keeps happening, and it happens to numerous people that owned an Elite controller. I mean $150 the freaking thing should be indestructible. If you plan on buying one get a warranty, don’t make the same mistake I did with the first one I purchased.

Inb4 lock this is a halo forum

Weird, I have had the same elite controller since November. Bad luck I guess.

Don’t spam so many grenades when you play next time then.

Sounds like you may be a little hard on your LB button…

I have to agree, I’ve had my elite since when it came out and no issues yet. Could just be luck(bad luck that is) on the OPs part but I don’t even see other people bring up complaints on the elites durability.

See your mistake was not putting enough hours in to the first controller quick enough that way you could have broke it before the warranty ran out. just kidding man I have the same problem I’m on my third controller myself it’s not an elitr but still

I’ve heard a lot of people complain about shoulder buttons not working on the Elite controller. It’s a bit disappointing for a 150 dollar, high end controller.

The only problem I’ve been having with mine is that the grip on the controller seems to peel off. What actually happens though is that the rubberized grip they use actually expands from the heat of your palms and puts stress on the adhesive making it become weaker and weaker to stay glued on there. Microsoft needs to find a better solution for the grip.

Sounds like you should just put on some weight, hot stuff

Still using my first Xbox One controller from August 2014. Still in good condition as if new.

Elite controller sounds like a bad investment.

Try to play games without pushing the buttons too hard. Also, before I even touch my elite controller, I always wash my hands to remove all sorts of grease and bacteria that might kill the sticks and the electronic inside. If I eat during my gaming session, I still wash my hand. No matter what. It might help you to keep your controller durable. Mine still smells fresh after a month. Once you’re done playing, always put it in the case that comes with it.

Only to people who don’t have one. It’s just so much better than the normal controller.

OP either you’re unlucky (which I doubt) or you need to go easy on the controller. I still have mine and no issues yet.

Bumper jumper? I had the same issues. MS gave me the same line. I was able to reach out to the guy who designed them on twitter and he repaired it for me for free. All I had to do was pay out the shipping cost to get it to him.

Wait wut?

It’s not just him and it’s not just the Elite controller. It’s the new design. A lot of the parts that were metal on the 360 controller were replaced with plastic with this generation (not Microsoft fault’s, the company that manufactures the parts made the switch, they’re a Chinese company that provides parts for both Xbox and Playstation’s controllers, from what I understand.

… anyway, here’s what happened to my Master Chief controller

I don’t know you’re so hot you melt adhesive? Don’t question my bad jokes.

Rofl ahhhh now I got it. As much as I wish it was because of my looks I’m quite certain it’s because of the problem that my palms sweat a lot.

A lot of my friends have had the same problem with the Bumpers it’s only a matter of time until mine falls off since I use bumper jumper

Yeah my LB broke after a few months too, glad I got the one year warranty. For the price it’s at it shouldn’t be having this many problems.
