On 12/15 I became a fan of Insta-spawn

During the life of Halo 4 I have considered weather I personally liked some of the changes 343i brought into the franchise. The jury has been out on Insta-spawn until yesterday (12/15).

During my match of Infinity Slayer on Haven I encountered a DMR weilding enemy player who bested me in a hallway on the bottom level. I was directed to the kill cam, and then respawned as soon as the option popped onto my screen, by the luck of it…I spawned near my dead body on the nearest ramp. I went down and turned left to find that SOB T-bagging my corpse needlessly…I sprinted toward him with my BR and took my vengence.

Now seriously, I understand now more then ever why some players are unhappy with Instaspawns. This specific enemy probably had not recovered his shields and was waiting on them, using that “down time” to enjoy his victory all over my corpse. But in this case, the player in question would not have been “caught with his pants down” if he would have left the scene…hid allowed his shields to recover and then rejoined the action…but the childish need to “T-bag” my corpse instead of hiding allowed me to plant several BR rounds into his back side.

So at the end of the day, I now see that Insta-spawn (atleast in slayer matches) isnt bad unless you place yourself needlessly in the open, without full shields, without your attention on the task at hand.

I wanted to share my opinion on Insta-spawns…and I thought it would be fun to tell my story of vengence =). I thought it was funny.

It’s not an insta-spawn problem it’s a spawn placement problem.

I’m not a fan of it.

However, I’ve gotten an overkill with it.

I killed two and got a double kill, then I died shortly after, respawned roughly in the same place and got two more, which resulted in an Overkill.

Didn’t save film though.

Combined with insta spawn = WTF this is umtarded.

Here’s the scenario I find myself in a lot…

I kill a player, they spawn 20-30 meters from where they just died, my shields haven’t regenerated by the time they insta respawned and I haven’t made it ten feet from where I was just standing, they walk ten feet from their insta spawn, i’m dead.

Or…

I’m in SWAT…I kill a player, get killed, insta respawn, kill another player, double kill, I get killed again, I insta respawn, kill another player, triple kill.

WTF???

You a fan of it because it helps you catch people with their pants down?

“Wet” handed?

Um, killing two Spartans, dying, and then killing two more doesn’t count as an Overkill. It counts as 4 kills split by the death.

Not in Halo 4. In Halo 4 as long as it’s in a 3.5 second window of each other it counts as a connecting on going multi kill.

Game rewarded me with an overkill.

Would have been two double kills, but I got an overkill.

It still counts towards an overkill. Trust me, it’s happened to me before as well. The guy’ll say “Overkill” even if you died during the Overkill.

You can literally get a Killionaire with a death in between every kill due to insta respawn.

So, we’ve established that the OP likes to have games hold his hand so he can get easy kills.

It’s really dumb how a obvious bug like this got through the testing. But hey we are used to bugs in plain sight with Halo 4 aren’t we?

Yep. Luckily for us and 343i, Halo 4 is just the beta testing for Halo 5, lol.

He/she is just glad that he/she was able to catch a teabagger in the act. I don’t see the reason to t-bag since the one who got killed doesn’t see it.

Although, I’ve seen some crazy stuff on this forum, I had a thread where someone wanted to make it easier for teams that are down and more difficult for teams that are in the lead, i.e, do just what you said, and slap the leading team in the face.

> Yep. Luckily for us and 343i, Halo 4 is just the beta testing for Halo 5, lol.

WWhhoooaaa not so fast, you forgot something. It probably goes more likes this;
Halo 4 - Initial closed beta, but changed to public beta due to market demand.
Halo 5 - Real public beta.
Halo 6 - AKA Duke nukem forever.

It’s just the fact it dosen’t punish the player enough for making a mistake and in turn dosen’t encourage ppl to think and do better.

I get not over punishing ppl for mistakes but what I liked about Halo over all is that it encourages you to become better.

Insta spawn is ok but it certainly doesnt belong in game modes like SWAT and oddball
