Sorry for this thread, I listened to it earlier today at work and almost got chills. And I was thinking about it all day and how awesome it would sound on my high dollar 40mm driver headphones. So I just listened to it again and OH MY FLIPPING GOD, I couldn’t be more psyched for this game than I am right now, the feelings that the samples inspire, coupled with the art in the vid and knowing this will finally be johns emotional journey. You can feel the pain, the rush, the mountain tops and the dread. The music alone stands to be the best yet and definetly stands out and let’s you know this is a whole new trilogy yet still the game we all know and love. Couple that with the things Frankie said when addressing the woes over new additions and the other pix and so on that have dropped today and it all makes for some serious hype that IMO is well warranted. Regardless of which side of the fence your on at the moment I think we can all agree that this is a highly anticipated game and that we have all been ACHING to see the chief again and see his story fleshed out. I personally can look past any worry that was ever in my mind now that I’ve heard the music samples. What do you guys think so far, not just of the music, but ALL of this new info? Who’s ready for a proper trailer?

Define Halo music.
Example: ODST and the old trilogy music were totally different. I bet if someone showed you an ODST track without mentioning that it’s from a Halo game then you would have said it doesn’t sounds like Halo.

Personally, from what I’ve heard… Halo 4’s soundtrack will be absolutely amazing.
It’ll be better than Halo Reach’s, definitely.
I honestly like the sample we heard better than most of the other tracks from previous Halo soundtracks…
Personally, I am enjoying the sample music. I think the point of releasing the sample music was to give us a basic demonstration of the specific ranges the composer could deliver for Halo 4. The first segment shows off the heroic and somber aspect of the Halo 4 story, while the latter 1/3 lets you get a good feel for the music we’ll be listening to when we’re set against the mysterious forerunner world of requiem to explore. It’s mysterious and alien and I think that’s very fitting for what 34i are going for.
They said they wanted to head back to Halo CE’s mystery and exploration and I think this music can help them to do just that.
