OMG QUITERS...CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE!

Every single game.
We get punished when YOU QUIT!
they need to do something to fix this!
It’s not fun to lose constantly because people who are terrible at the game quit when they are 2 and 17.

343…please fix ranking so it’s based on Individual players instead of wins and losses…you know, like it has always been. Why did you change it?

Quitets DO NOT UNDERSTAND there is a playlist just for them, called warzone.

Why go into a ranked game if you’re going to quit? Do you enjoy just screwing people?

It’s ok if you TRY and do badly, it’s not ok to quit.

FOR EVERYONE WHO IS GOING TO GIVE AN EXCUSE…PLEASE MOVE ON AND DON’T POST.
There’s no family or personal emergency every single game I play.

What can we, as a community, do to get our point across to other players, and to 343? There’s got to be a way to end this problem.

This is already a fairly popular topic. Please check other threads before creating a new thread on the same issue.
One idea was to have a score limit where if you had someone quit before, say, 30 kills for the team, that the remaining 3 would not be punished for that game. Because if it was ANY quitter, it could be a team of 4 plays, and when they’re about to lose, one of them quits, saving themselves.

This. I’ve only played around 15 games of Halo 5 Arena so far and in about a third of them I’ve had people in my team leaving. This means your chances of winning the game have been reduced to about 5%. It’s very frustrating. I just had to play a game 2v4 for 90% of the match. When the enemy team had 40 kills it became 1v4. I refuse to play 1v4, so I left. In the future I will leave instantly when a player on my team leaves. It’s unfair to punish people who leave the match after another player on their team has left before them.

Why don’t they just fill the gaps with other players if people leave? I know it isn’t preferable to join a game that has already started but it’s still a whole lot better than the current system. They could make it so that players who join an ongoing session won’t get punished if their team loses that game.

I think it shouldn’t matter. Teams that are really bothered about this would simply have one leave before the 30 kill mark if they were behind far enough. It still wouldn’t fix things completely.

A solution I would find preferable is the system of another game I play: Rocket League. In this game when someone in your team leaves the other players can leave without any consequences. However, the player that leaves first does get a penalty. In Rocket League that player will get a temporary ban of 30 minutes (iirc). This seems fair to me. Ragequitters will be forced to take a break from the game, and other players won’t fall victim to their behavior. Of course, it would be logical to also give the quitters a penalty to their rank. This could be in the form of counting the game they left as a loss.

There is a system in place. Its called a ban. Want to know who the quitters are? They are the ones posting threads about how they got banned unfairly. Go complain to them directly.

First, don’t say that you get punished when others quit. This is a video game, not the principal’s office.

For the record, this is not the first Halo to have ranks based on win/loss. And my understanding (please correct me if I’m wrong) is that your initial placement into a division is based off of ten matches in which you are being assessed on your individual performance. The strict win/loss system only kicks in after you’re in a division, and is used to move you between tiers.

Yes, you are right that the more casual players should probably stick to warzone, but an argument could also be made that arena should have join-in-progress.

"It’s ok if you TRY and do badly, it’s not ok to quit. " I give you serious points for saying this if you really mean it. Because in my experience people are all too quick to crap all over you when you’re the guy who goes 2 and 17 instead of quitting. It’s a “-Yoink!- if you do, -Yoink!- if you don’t” scenario.

In the end the only real solution is to stay out of the play list if you haven’t got a reliable team. This is what friend lists are for. This is what Spartan Companies are for. I know it’s impractical, but it will solve all your problems. That, or CoD.

The quitters not being replaced in matches is probably the only complaint I have so far about multiplayer. I don’t think I’ve finished a Breakout match with all 8 players

Thats not too bad though, breakout is the only gametype where you can pull off some stuff and still win with 3 people. If anything the loss of the quitter could actually benefit your team assuming he was worthless and a grouch.

Its the players who are “inactive” that do it for me.

you have quitters in EVERY multiplayer game these days…

people will not play if they do not have fun… the worse the game is the more quitters…

You realize if they are 2 and 17 you’re literally better off without them right?

What other halo get had rank based on win loss? Not 1,2,3 or reach. Odst didnt…did 4 have that system? I didn’t play much 4 because I thought it was terrible. Winning may have helped (a tiny bit) but KDR was the thing that kept your rank up when you lost a lot. Reach was a progessive rank like cod (ew).

Ban is fine, but that doesn’t help the rest of the team. It really hurts if it’s say 18 to 2, then 2 people quit out (happens a lot). There is still time for a comeback in that scenerio…which sucks because people quit just over a bad start. In the end, you need the most kills, even if you’re negative and there’s only one positive person on your team…it can still happen, easilly.

I still like the idea of a unique shame emblem your stuck with for a week. This way (being you can only see emblems in the lobby) people have the chance to bail without penalty before game start. I also like the above mentioned rocket game idea.

If someone quits, the loss shouldn’t count, but neither would your kills/deaths. As if it never happened.

Even better, the quiters should have to 1v1 each team mate before they can go Inot any playlist again…and if they have to wait for the matches…oh well.

And yes, I have more respect for a 2 and 17 than a quiter any day of the week. Getting better can be learned…quiting, there’s just no excuse…your garbage.

I quit a Warzone match today to roast a guy on Waypoint. Does that make me a bad person?

I wonder if players complain when the opposing team member quits and they get the W. Probably not they take the win, I do. The ban system is fine.

They’re getting banned. Just read the forum, you’ll see threads about it.

Well, idlers are kinda great, I’ve gotten some nice assassinations from them, thanks idlers!

But yeah, quitting blows on things that are not swat or shottie snipers, but I think 343 doesn’t want to send you into ‘inprogess’ games since A, some of you are sore sore losers, and B) those 22 seconds matches where you get the same xp and req as those that slogged through 12 mins haha.

Actually Halo 2 and 3 rankings were entirely based on win/loss. Some people never understood that, but it is true. Individual performance had zero impact on your ranking. I literally carried friends to high 40s/50 while they hid in the corner going negative every game.

temporary bans are not working and need to either be extended or there needs to be other punishments

1)Make an unranked playlist that doesn’t punish quitting and allows join in progress
2)Allow Join In Progress in the current modes but make the match not count either for the new player or for the whole team

something along these ideas should maybe fix it. I think its time they add JOP but in ranked playlists remove the Quit menu selection

I think that they should do what Smite does with quitters. When someone quits and they try to start a new game, they just get put into the same game they quit from. So they have to wait until that game is over to start searching for a new game.

I’m happy that quitters will get the banhammer, i will sit in the match even if i am the last person on my team to keep playing i wont ever quite its a cowards way out, they only do it because they are scared to lose on their K/D and Win/Loss which is so sad.
