Omega Team = Halo 6 Armor Customization?

The latest Community Update showed off a new group of Spartan-II super-soldiers that will be joining Jerome-092 on the battlefields of Halo Wars 2, called Omega Team. Their armor looks like heavily customized MJOLNIR Mark-IV armor, not unlike what we got in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.

Looking at this concept art, I can’t help but wonder… could this be indicative of the armor customization for Halo 6, or whatever the next Halo FPS is? I think by now 343 Industries realizes that no one likes the new art style or the design of the Spartan-IVs, even less so in Halo 5: Guardians with the addition of some truly hideous new armors like Seeker.

Meanwhile, the armor customization of Halo: Reach gets a lot of praise for the believable utilitarian design of the armor and having the most extensive Spartan customization of any Halo game to date. This concept art reminds me a great deal of Halo: Reach’s customization in how it uses the Mark IV armor as a base, with various attachments and armor reinforcements layered on top to give each individual Spartan a unique look, not unlike the Spartans of Noble Team.

What do you guys think? On one hand, this has me excited for future Halo games, that we’ll get proper armor customization again based on what we got in Reach with a more classic look for our Spartans; hopefully no more alien or anime-looking armor designs.

On the other hand, I would really just prefer that they copied-and-pasted the armor customization from Reach, including using the Mark V/b armor as a base, and expanded on that. In Halo: Reach, I was able to create the perfect look for my Spartan, make him utterly unique… and the system had sufficient variety to where I was able to create a lot of different characters and OCs for fan-fiction and whatnot.

Share your thoughts. Will you be glad to see Halo 4 and Halo 5’s armor designs go away? Are you excited at the possibility of 343 Industries letting us customize Mark IV armor for our Spartans in future Halo games, or would you rather they just go back to Halo: Reach’s customization system and not overcomplicate things?

Though I’m kind of used to it by now I have to say I still dislike the very varied Mjolnir armors instead of using more a standard models like ODST do.

Although anyrhing os possible. The real life reason omega team look like they do is to differentiate them from the other units on the field. Thats why johnson got a mech. Its all down to rts gameplay requirements. We can certainly hope so though. I really like the designs in the concept art.

His name is Jerome-092,Spartan-052 was Jorge.
I just wanted to say it.

As long as we get Mark IV armor again I’m fine with whatever.

while I do enjoy artistic throwbacks to original themes, I do hope that 343i doesn’t scrap some of thier own designs, like the Hunter, Copperhead, Freebooter, NightFall, Helljumper, Buccaneer, GEN 2 Air Assault, etc.
The only problem I had, visually, with the older art style for Mjolnir, was the armor looked like it hindered more than it helped. It had large bulky shoulder sections, limited torso mobility, and the god-awful space diaper/ cod-piece.
The whole idea of power armor is that its supposed to increase the strength, speed and agility of the wearer, so why would you design it to limit range of motion? I never understood that. In my opinion, the 343s designs, and the GEN2 system is an improvement, visually, to the Mjolnir system.
But that’s me. I get the whole militaristic art style, with additional pouches, knives, grenades, etc, but the GEN 2 armor was designed to be sleeker, with any and all firmware systems integrated into the tech suit.

I sure as hell won’t lose any sleep if armors like Freebooter, Nightfall, Air Assault GEN-2, and Buccaneer don’t ever return.

Air Assault GEN-2 just doesn’t look as good as it’s GEN-1 counterpart, Nightfall is like a poor man’s ODST armor, and I cannot fathom why anyone would want to keep Freebooter or Buccaneer given they’re every bit as hideous as Seeker.

Helljumper is nice for a Spartan-ified ODST armor, but it doesn’t look anywhere near as good in multiplayer without the unique techsuit it has in the campaign. Same goes for Hunter and Copperhead.

Those spartans looks dope, I would like a personalized Mark IV armor in Halo 6

The problem is those designs would be hell with hitboxes. Even most reach armor is pretty boxy and compact. While those have extra bits sticking out and such.

I hope it is something like this. But I pray that it isn’t like 3 and Reach and we only have one set with attachments. That’s something I love about 4 and 5, we change the entire suit. The thing I like the most in that concept art is that solid colors are back, and not the random asymmetrical lines and white streaks 343 loved so much in Halo 5. Though I am not a fan of how overly bulky the one on the far left is, especially that thing on his back.

Bear in mind that this is just concept art, and these Spartans are meant to appear in Halo War 2 DLC.

Though I do really like the one in the middle holding the Railgun. It looks the sleekest of the three, more in line with the designs of Halo 3 and Halo: Reach than the others.

I don’t know if it could be like that in Halo 6 but I hope it is! They look awesome!

I do agree with the lack of the OSIRIS prototype tech suits. They make those armor stand out. I hope in next titles that the option of different tech suits to be used in MP.

NO, PLEASE! THIS IS SO AWFUL. Just keep it as REQ’s SETS

seeing infinite and yeah, this aged kinda well not gonna lie
