So I just finished reading the digital issue of Gameinformer with Halo 5 as the cover story. Olympia Vale is apparently the red spartan on Locke’s team. I believe she’s a new character as I haven’t seen her mentioned in any previous related Halo material, but I’ve seen people say that’s she’s going to be heavily featured in the upcoming Hunters in the Dark novel that’s slated to be released this month. Is that true? Because I certainly hope it is as it will be great to get some background info on her before Halo 5 is released.

About Vale specifically? She was apparently a child prodigy with exceptional skill in languages. That led her to a career as a navy liaison between the Humans and the Sangheli.

Awesome! Can’t wait to read this whole thing. I’ll be buying it on Google Play as soon as it’s up. I don’t want to pay for a whole subscription just to read this one thing lol

Probably meant to give us a true idea of who we’ll be fighting with when we are on Locke’s side of the campaign.

Everyone thought it was Macer for a little while. As long as Olympia is an interesting character, and is probably in Hunter in the Dark, I’ll be fine playing as her in the campaign of Halo 5.
Interesting. Like Hyperice343 said, I was hoping Locke had picked up Macer to become a Spartan to be on his team. I wonder if we’ll hear about Macer any more in the future.

I read somewhere that she is some sort of sangheli specialist, like their history and language n’ stuff, maybe this is why she is in Hunters in the dark, as an ambassador or something. Before she was a spartan.
She’s the only character we haven’t seen an origin story from i.e. Tanaka was introduced in escalation
Buck becoming a spartan was in New blood
Locke was in nightfall
