Seeing as 343 is taking inspiration from the books quite heavily, do you think that there’s a good chance that this secret signal will finally come into use in Halo 4, possibly in a first person cinematic? Or heck, maybe in a stealth mission involving other Spartans?

I doubt ther’ll be other Spartan II’s, unless they end up near that dyson sphere. And since that signal was used by the Spartan II’s during training, I don’t think it’ll come up here Since any other Spartans won’t have gone through the same training.

Yes, that’s what I was speaking about. But since (from what I know) they haven’t been confirmed or denied we can’t assume they are in.

That would be amazing. Like, at the start of the campaign you are wandering around exploring the area when you feel like you are being watched. Then it could turn out that it was either Fred, Linda or Kelly seeing as it’s a possibility that they arrived on the same Shield World as John.
