So it seems as if the Olive and Timmy helmets are being gifted to well known forgers. Does this mean that they are only obtainable by gifts directly from 343i?

This wouldn’t be the first nor the last time a game dev made some kind of exclusive item for a small group of community members.
Aw, man…I Forge a lot…so I want one…
So this explains why there are 231 helmets that appear in the customisation screen, while there are only 229 bodies
Not everybody who has there maps in Matchmaking Gets one. As i dont have one and plenty of other friends of mine who have maps in matchmaking don’t have one either.
I believe you need to be either an Official Cartographer or need to do something epic and get the attention of the Forge Developers / community manager in order to be gifted one 
I feel as though whenever someone gets their forge map featured on halo waypoint that they should be gifted the ‘Olive’ pack for contributing to the community, when i got my Infection map Featured i wasnt even Notified on waypoint that it happened. Sure its not really a big deal and i kind of liked the surprise, as it made my day but all im saying is that it would be cool to have those helmets sent out as like Challenge helmets like the old ‘Recon’ that require you to get your content featured.
Im working on a ‘Classic Invasion’ gametype as of right now, i know Wyvernzu the gamer in the link you provided is also working on invasion as well / a slightly different varient but im hoping il get noticed and gifted a pack too

Good, I think those helmets deserve to be exclusives for those who have earned them. That being said, I think that people who get their maps into matchmaking should receive them as well, it would only be fair.

I still use EG skins over my 343i ones. And I wouldn’t be suprused if they haven’t really gotten around on how to hand these helmets out.

Guys Demanding to get the helmet is rude. Simply asking if they could change it is the better option and if they say no its not a big deal. We aren’t entitled to anything, you are also forgetting that those of us who have maps in matchmaking have already received an emblem gift thats exclusive to us and us forgers alone
The Timmy helmet seems to be available by playing halo 5 forge on pc and personally i think thats enough to show that you are a forger, its just not out yet. Theres a chance that the forge team is planning to give the olive helmet to everyone with maps in matchmaking already but they are waiting to release it to the majority at a later date or it could be as simple as either they want to keep it exclusive to the cartographers and forge team or maybe they didn’t think about gifting it to all of the people who have maps in matchmaking.
Maybe if someone from 343 could clarify how it works that would be nice
